Join our team of Compliance Communication Consultants. We're passionate about creating innovative and effective compliance communication solutions for our clients that support their benefits delivery requirements.
Client advisory:
Help clients meet their business goals by combining business knowledge, ERISA and other HR-related compliance expertise, and strategy skills so they make factually based business decisions regarding their employees.Assess client's current state of compliance communication and their business needs, folding in both short- and long-term considerations to improve efficiency and accuracy.Serve as a "spokesperson" for compliance communication on opportunities; propose and present appropriate solutions leveraging both best practices and creative thinking.Present compliance trends, technical information, and potential solutions to clients in an easy-to-digest manner.Promote all applicable compliance communication delivery methods.Establish and apply a broad understanding of Alight's core businesses, technology, products, and offers.
Client project leadership:
Lead large, complex communication client projects-includes leading through the strategy, design, implementation, and operations of compliance communication initiatives in print and electronic formats that are aligned with client's overall business mission, climate, culture, and structure.Oversee budget, scope, and timeline development for compliance projects.Develop and manage relationships with client's compliance communication buyers with the objective of securing additional or renewal opportunities.Resolve escalated client issues through appropriate relationship management tactics, communication, and negotiation skills.
Client project delivery:
Determine and document client's technical requirements, recommend content approach and architecture for complex projects, and manage the dissemination of the strategy to the project team.Manage internal "partner" relationships (Administration Team, Fulfillment, and other specialized teams).Manage overall project and/or collaborate with Alight Project Manager to continually identify and meet arising client needs in areas of business objectives, budget/financial, and ongoing services.Draft content aligning with ERISA Disclosure Requirements-clear, concise, and easily understood by the average plan participant; Health and Welfare (HW), Defined Benefit DB), and Defined Contribution (DC), with an emphasis on DC and DB plan content.Flex between leading others and writing/owning the content development process, and ensuring a balance between the user experience and the desired business outcomes.Experience managing variable messaging/fields/requirements.
Required skills, experience, and technical knowledge
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating creativity as well as HR/benefits expertise.Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience including at least five years of experience in the area of compliance communication-in particular, the creation of ERISA-regulated benefits materials such as summary plan descriptions (SPDs), summaries of material modification (SMMs), summaries of benefits and coverage (SBCs), and other benefits/HR-policy documents.Experience working with corporate counsel and attorneys a plus.Leadership team and/or people management experience a plus.Able to track and communicate new and/or changing legislation as it relates to compliance communication.Experience in developing and overseeing the development of complex compliance and policy communication.Considerable knowledge of HR practices, trends, and HR content areas.Comfortable engaging with and presenting to clients.Able to assimilate source materials, input from subject matter experts, and other relevant documentation to create strategic recommendations and content.Able to understand role on project/team, while going beyond to add value.Able to collaborate efficiently and effectively with clients and colleagues.Accountable for assignments/projects to ensure they're delivered with excellence and profitability.Demonstrated experience in coaching, leading, and/or managing people.Able to partner with subject matter experts from other lines of business.Can learn and apply new technologies.Software fluency, including Microsoft 365 and Adobe Acrobat.Excellent organizational and project management skills.Demonstrated presentation, business development, and selling skills.Flexibility to travel a couple of times per year.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Education, Marketing, or related fieldMaster's degree or paralegal experience a plus

Pay Transparency Statement: Alight takes into consideration a candidate's experience, education, certification/credentials, market data, internal equity, and geography when determining an offer for a successful employment candidate, and Alight does so on an individualized, non-discriminatory basis. Therefore, an offer may fall anywhere between the estimated minimum base salary for this role of $82,000.00/year (for full time employees) and the estimated maximum base salary for this role of $130,100.00/year (for full time employees). In addition to a base salary, this position may be eligible for a bonus and/or other incentive plans.
