Location:
This role will be able to work remotely with a mix of time spent working onsite in Northern Virginia. You must be legally authorized to work in the US. Bixal does not provide visa sponsorship.
What will you do?
Bixal is seeking an Industry Engagement Lead to join our team and help accelerate digital transformation and engagement for federal clients. As a consultant, you will be part of a high-performing team applying effective communication strategies. This position will be the lead for a federal contract’s industry engagement. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and managing engagement plans and preparing high-level leaders for events. You will prepare a range of materials including social media posts, meeting notes, talking points, event materials and more. You will work with a team to make continuous improvements to drive engagement and improve stakeholder relationships. This role is responsible for engaging with and managing relationships with prospective vendors interested in doing business with the federal client.
The ideal candidate for this position is forward-thinking, resourceful, and self-directed, with an innate drive to anticipate client needs and proactively deliver creative, effective, solutions. The candidate must be comfortable working with high-profile stakeholders.
ResponsibilitiesLead industry engagement for a high-profile federal client. Analyze industry trends to create products that will prepare senior leaders for engagements with industry. Coordinate and prepare meetings with senior leaders; track metrics and outcomes related to industry engagements. Employ creative thinking to create industry engagement objectives and integrate them into a cohesive industry-engagement strategic plan. Implement strategic plan(s) with minimal oversight. Plan and coordinate speaking opportunities and vendor meetings at key conferences and engagements. Author and submit industry awards recognizing key organization workforce members and communication campaigns. Develop relationships across the organization to provide the highest quality of support and expertise. Provide surge support for large-scale events as needed.Actively participate in a transparent, collaborative, high-performing Agile team.Identify business development opportunities and support Bixal’s capture efforts to expand our presence within programs or sectors.Work one day per week on-site at the client offices located at Ft. Belvoir, VA and provide on-site support for events.Coordinate with multiple program offices to prepare information papers to inform vendor meetings with organization senior leaders (at the chief of staff and secretariat level). Participate in client events and forums to positively represent the organization and develop and maintain relationships with the industry.As appropriate, play an active role in new client acquisition by supporting business development initiatives to enhance and grow Bixal's business in each of the areas that it works.Perform other duties as required.
QualificationsBachelor's degree in Communication, Marketing, English, Political Science, Public Administration or a related discipline.10+ years of experience developing and implementing industry engagement communication strategies for large organizations, preferably for the federal government.Ability to undergo a background investigation by the U.S. government and meet eligibility requirements for suitability.Impeccable attention to detail.Ability to research company performance/background for meeting preparation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Experience working with Senior Leaders.Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with industry partners. Strong experience and comfortability with Microsoft Office suite, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.Strong organization skills.Ability to work on-site at Fort Belvoir, VA.
Nice to havesMaster’s degree.Secret clearance.Department of Defense experience.Familiarity with AP Style.Familiarity with Drupal CMS. Experience using Salesforce CRM tool preferred.Knowledge of the federal procurement and contracting process, in particular for Department of Defense.
