WES is looking for a Senior Communications Associate to join the Enterprise Communications team providing communications support that brings WES’ brand to life. This is a temporary position for 12 months. The individual will assist in developing and executing communications plans built in collaboration with cross-departmental and cross-border teams; knowledge of the immigrant integration and international education spaces is an asset. This role is a mix of both tactical and strategic work. The individual will focus on the execution of strategic communications that help to realize the organization’s strategic plan and working model as a social enterprise.
Duties included but not limited to:
Provide communications support and advice to project leads by executing project plans to enable communications strategies Support (and at times, lead) the creation of communications plans/solutions that enable business objectives Participate in editorial and communications planning to develop content concepts and themes in line with enterprise strategic goals Write or support the development of key communications assets Manage daily social media communications and community engagement for parent brand and senior leaders Assist in developing and implementing compelling pitches to targeted media contacts in relevant sector publications, as well as local, national, and international publications Create and/or pitch WES-authored content for external audiences Manage daily media review/analysis Help to plan and execute virtual and in-person events Uphold brand standards; provide branding support and carry out quality assurance on communications materials Assist human resources and internal committees in developing internal communications Be knowledgeable of communications practices and procedures and keep current on emerging trends Other duties and responsibilities as assignedRequirements:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, multimedia, journalism or related discipline, or equivalent work experience 5+ years of progressive work experience Solid knowledge of multiple communications disciplines including media relations, internal communications, public relations, social media Can develop a wide range of content and communications assets targeted to different audiences using the full breadth of channels available from earned to owned media, and organic to paid promotion Proficient in WordPress, Hootsuite, Google Analytics, Cision (or other media monitoring platform) and Salesforce Experience monitoring and measuring communications strategies including the use of social media metrics to improve and determine success Strong interpersonal skills to develop trusting relationships across the organization Self-motivated with excellent time management and organizational skills to prioritize and multi-task in a collaborative environment Able to work independently with little oversight Ability to translate complex issues to comprehensive narratives Excellent research, writing, and planning skills Knowledge of and interest in immigration issues, either through professional or personal experienceWorking Conditions:
