Senior Commercial Project Manager (CPM)
We are looking for a Senior Commercial Project Manager (CPM) with job location in Oslo to strengthen our team. The Senior CPM is responsible for commercial aspects related to customer contracts. Responsibilities encompass performance measurement, planning, forecasting, and reporting. We are looking for a committed person who takes ownership to the whole value chain and proactively builds relationships to achieve ambitious targets.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Ensure proper financial project set-up including work breakdown structure (WBS) in line with agreed project budget and company internal contractual arrangements.
Manage and optimize targeted financial results with due professional care (e.g., project gross profit, cash flow, and financing instruments).
Perform financial planning, forecasting, controlling.
Set up and closely monitor revenue recognition: actual vs plan, degree of completion, cost to complete, total forecasted costs vs planned. Ensure full compliance of revenue and cost recognition with Siemens’ accounting policies.
Support the responsible Project Manager on change management issues (variations) relating to the scope of the project.
Identify, evaluate and assess risks & opportunities, strategies, and response activities together with the Project Manager. Constantly assess risks & opportunities and their impact while proposing measures to prevent negative margin slippage due to risks that could have been avoided.
Implement and drive measures together with the Project Manager to leverage opportunities to improve project performance. Support the Project Manager to ensure project quality based and achievement of project goals.
Present commercial aspects to senior management in project reviews.
Timely issue invoices with a strong focus on managing Account Receivables and project cash flow.
Support procurement in preparation, negotiations and closing of 3rd party contracts. Ensure consistent terms and conditions with suppliers/subcontractors in line with the end-customer contract.
Coordinate other contractual requirements (e.g., performance guarantees, insurances) to achieve contract commitments.
Actively communicate with customers’ commercial representatives and manage resolution of commercial issues.
Build and maintain a network to relevant subject matter experts in our organization (e.g., Tax, Accounting, ECC, insurance and hedging)
Influence team to take positive action and assume accountability for assigned work.
Work in an international Project environment.
To succeed in the role, we believe you have a master’s degree within business, economics, accounting or equivalent. The ideal candidate has professional experience in commercial project controlling of complex projects, or other similar positions. Preferably 8+ years pf experience, with documented results. You also have solid understanding of business processes. Experience from contract management and negotiations is an advantage. You are proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel. In depth knowledge with SAP Modules is preferred. You are proficient in Norwegian and English, and if you also speak German it is considered an advantage. As a person, you are analytical, proactive, and positive. You have excellent interpersonal and communications skills and work well in teams. You enjoy sharing knowledge with team members and you have a strong ownership to your own and your team’s result.
