The Senior Claim Operations Assistant, functions as a service liaison between brokers, insureds and claimants, and the professional staff by providing necessary claim operational support to AXIS North America Claims. This role is a critical, foundational role that supports AXIS North America Claims. The primary focus of this role is to provide outstanding customer service to stakeholders with respect to North America Claims First Notice of Loss, intake, assignment and triage of claims. This role supports all North America claims and all lines of business and is a key customer service role for AXIS North America Claims. Other roles may include Payment/Financials and Administrative functions as needed. The Senior Claim Operations Assistant is responsible for coordinating and performing a variety of administrative, operational, and quality assurance activities for the Claims team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Partnering with Claim handlers, assisting multiple lines of business with operations duties with a primary focus on triaging first notice of loss, and daily claim assignments intake and set up of new claims, triage, and assignment to claim handlers based on severity, location, and loss detail
Triaging daily claim assignments to claim handlers and preferred service providers
Completing analysis & resolution of both routine and complicated work requests

Reviewing, evaluating, and categorizing incoming documents.
Verifying information for accuracy/appropriateness and conducting follow ups with others (including our customers, contractors, venders, and claims staff) for missing or questionable data.
Preparing and assembling documents for distributing to outside contacts and documenting our claim decision.
Entering and retrieving information of varying complexity using systems and applications to update records, obtain information for progression of file handling,
Responding independently to questions and escalations and verifies claim status and decisions with customers and vendors.
Assisting with customer calls, queries, and redirecting claim escalations as
Preparing correspondence and processing other insurance transactions to provide customer service and support efforts.
Using judgment to determine what additional information may be needed to continue moving the claim forward.
Demonstrating willingness to learn and develop subject matter expertise and continuously builds product, procedural and technical systems knowledge.
Interacting regularly with claim handlers, providing feedback as well as, receiving feedback to continuously improve.
Ability to quickly adapt to altered processes
Receive and process mail to include scanning mail/documents and uploading them to the claim file.
Complete ongoing weekly and monthly projects which involve claim loss coding, gathering of audit documentation, and file research and data field entry.
Assists in problem solving all clerical processes and coding entries
Other duties may include support with a variety of claim financial processes including the processing and documentation of voided and reissued claim checks as well processing claim payment/expense recoveries. Vendor payment allocation across applicable claim files and supporting payments and other financial transactions as may be required

For this position, we currently expect to offer a base salary in the range of $55K-85K GA, $60K-90K NJ . The specific salary offer will be based on an assessment of a variety of factors including the experience of the successful candidate and their work location.
