Hitachi Energy has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Bid & Proposal Manager, your task will be to craft our bid strategy for large and complex pursuits. Managing a diverse team of various competencies to implement the strategy and ensure that Hitachi Energy's offering is consolidated and qualitatively conveyed to the client. You will be joining a team of 10 based globally.
Your base will be in Birmingham (2-3 days onsite) where our new offices will be based. You will be part of the HVDC product group within Hitachi Energy. HVDC technology has been on the market for the past 60 years and is used to transmit power over long distances with minimal losses, using overhead lines, underground and submarine cable systems.
Responsibilities:
You should be enticed by working with complex tenders from both a technical and commercial aspect.Thrive in a high performing international environment.You will be leading a Bid & Proposal team of technical, legal, tax, insurance, and commercial experts.Digesting and translating client requirements and needs into a competitive overall solution based on the Hitachi Energy portfolio.Frequent contacts with colleagues as well as clients in other countries, although your focus will remain on the European market.Living Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.
Your background:
Experience of project management of mega projects and/or large-scale system sales and tendering.You enjoy the challenge of complexity and like working in a changing business environment where you are used to dealing with international business clients.Technical and commercial experience from HVDC systems or similar, is an advantage as you will be working close to the HVDC Technology.Have a learning mindset and a collaborative spirit.Good leadership skills and a structured approach for leading the team through challenges.Communicative and outgoing, especially since the position entails interaction with a wide variety of stakeholders, both internal and external across all organizational levels.
Mobility:
You should hold a clean driving licence and be free to travel throughout the UK and EuropeFrequent travel to Sweden, is also anticipated, as this where our HVDC head office, and the majority of our Technical Specialists, are located.
