Position Overview
As a member of the Corporate Total Rewards Team, the Senior Benefits Design Analyst, International contributes to the evaluation, selection, delivery and communication of engaging, meaningful benefit programs for Canada, APAC, & EMEA in support of our corporate objective to offer competitive health and welfare benefits and time away programs to attract and retain top employee talent, promote employee engagement, and foster employee wellbeing. As a member of the benefits team, this individual contributor will work effectively with internal stakeholders such as Total Rewards team members, HR Operations and HRIS Teams, Payroll, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Engagement, Wellness & Amenities, Legal, and other colleagues.
This position is located in our office in London, Waterloo (hybrid - 2 days working from home).
Essential Duties
Include, but are not limited to, the following:
Support the benefit strategy and design for our international locations (Canada, APAC, EMEA), including health (medical, dental, and vision), flex plans, retirement, life and disability, and time away (statutory and company-sponsored policies and programs).Work closely with Global Benefits Operations to ensure benefit and time away plan design can be operationalised.Liaise and coordinate with benefit brokers, providers, and Legal Counsel.Be the main point of contact for local benefits broker to benchmark existing plans, analyze survey data and make sound recommendations on international benefits plan and time away options incl. cost estimates.Participate in RFPs for all benefits vendors and ensure legal, privacy and information security reviews are completed for selected vendor contracts.Be the main point of contact for Benefits Finance to ensure benefits vendor payment processing is set up in line with contract terms.Lead benefit plan renewal processes across all international markets.Support the regular design review and communication strategy of the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Ensure communications are reviewed for each offering period and updated with lessons learned from previous enrolments. Prepare and analyze statistics following each enrolment, monitor trends and make recommendations for improvements.Build relationships with internal and external providers of benefit plans and systems ensuring accuracy and a positive employee experience in enrolling or using benefit plans.Draft employee benefit communications, training material and presentations.Lead the creation of time away policies, including leave of absence programs across all international countries by working closely with legal and outside counsel. Ensure policies meet statutory requirements and are compliant with collective bargaining agreements as applicable. Ensure global consistency and internal compliance.Generate reports and summarise findings, as appropriate.Responsible for international benefits resource pages, updating and maintaining all Benefits documents and creating engaging and value add content.Stay abreast of country-specific new benefits legislation and trends, as well as changes to local collective bargaining agreements and ensure plans and operational processes are updated to meet legislative requirement.Support M&A and benefits integrations.Support other Benefits initiatives and programs (including Engagement & Wellness) as required.Act as a subject matter expert to internal stakeholders.Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.Ability to travel 10% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, or other relevant concentration.3+ years of experience in the analysis, design, and/or administration of international employee benefits.Strong knowledge of statutory and non-statutory international benefit and time away plans in Europe, Middle East, and Asia.Good understanding of collective bargaining agreements in EMEA countries.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; especially Excel and PowerPoint.Fluent to read, write, and speak English.Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.Authorisation to work in the United Kingdom without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
Fluent to read, write, and speak in one or more languages other than English (e.g., French, German).Certification in International Benefits (e.g., CEBS).Working knowledge of Workday HCMS and Benefits Administration module or similar HCMS system.
