Amazon is seeking a talented, highly motivated and experienced senior-level individual to join the AWS Corporate Business Development team within the Amazon Corporate Business Development (CorpBD) group. CorpBD is part of Amazon’s centralized Business & Corporate Development organization and is responsible for generating, managing, and executing some of Amazon’s most complex and high impact strategic transactions and partnerships. This includes managing relationships and negotiations which may be unconventional in nature, need a centralized advocate, and/or have broader implications across Amazon. We regularly work with major technology companies as well as high-growth start-ups to identify and pursue new opportunities. You will be required to handle multiple projects spanning a variety of transaction types and areas of the AWS cloud computing business. You will be forward-thinking and effectively negotiate terms that benefit Amazon and our customers.
This key role will be highly visible at the most senior levels of the AWS cloud computing business and you will need to work collaboratively with internal management teams to understand where our relative advantages or risks lie and current trends around innovation, consolidation and customer adoption in the cloud computing industry. We dive deep and provide thoughtful analysis, but are adaptable and action-oriented, focused on quickly gaining enough context to enable informed decision-making. Executing strategic transactions and partnerships are our primary objectives.

The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex problems, works effectively with cross-functional teams and thrives in a fast-paced setting that is constantly evolving. Acting as an effective negotiator is a critical part of this job.
Key job responsibilities
Take the lead to identify, evaluate, negotiate, and manage strategic transactions and partnerships that can involve various licensing, acquisition, equity warrant, and collaboration elements.
Evaluate the economic and strategic cost-benefit of opportunities.
Lead cross-functional teams including Product, Marketing, Sales, Legal, Finance, Tax, and senior management stakeholders to execute projects successfully.
Develop best practices to foster, manage, and track opportunities.
Support the strategic objectives and interests of Amazon’s AWS cloud computing business.

Basic Qualifications
5+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
5+ years of professional or military experience
Bachelor's degree
Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
Excellent oral and written skills to communicate complex issues and influence others internally and externally
Preferred Qualifications
MBA from a top-tier program
Thought leader with a solid understanding of cloud computing and relevant business models
Experience drafting term sheets and negotiating complex legal agreements
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively while applying sound business judgment and quantitative analysis
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to gain respect of senior management and external executives
Ability to build and maintain a network of relationships which facilitate deal flow
Self-starter who can excel in a fast-paced and fluid environment
Competency and aptitude with cloud computing and software technologies
Passion for big challenges and a good sense of humor

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $147,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
