Job Description
Corporate Audit Services (CAS) is the company’s independent internal audit organization and third line of defense. CAS brings a systemic approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes. Our comprehensive scope of responsibilities provides important insight and a broad perspective on all areas of the company, making us a valuable resource to executive management as they work to accomplish overall goals and strengthen internal control and governance.
CAS is the primary resource of the U.S. Bancorp Audit Committee in carrying out its duties. We provide them with timely and accurate information about the company’s many strategic, operational, financial and compliance risks as well as assurance that the risks are being well managed.
U.S. Bank Corporate Audit Services (CAS) is seeking a strong candidate to join our growing team of audit professionals within the Digital, Technology and Operations Services team. This position will play an integral role in CAS to drive innovation, automation and analytics opportunities in audit engagements.
Primary Responsibilities
o Coordinating with the Senior Audit Director and overall team to identify use cases and develop plans for data analytics, data science and continuous auditing by examining the audit plan and collaborating with assigned audit team(s) and CAS Data Analytics.
o Facilitate an ongoing, formal partnership via a dotted-line relationship with the CAS Data Analytics team’s Data Science Manager.
o Co-develop goals by audit team for identification of team analytic opportunities.
o Ensure key audit execution meetings (e.g., planning, fieldwork, etc.) with CAS Data Analytics (engagement, semi-annual and annual) are scheduled, held, and documented.
o Identify what tools and techniques are available for use against LOB applications and, at a high level, how they may be deployed to increase the effectiveness of audit testing.
o Leverage existing CAS/company technology tools to develop analytics as necessary
o Communicate regularly with assigned audit team(s), including assisting with understanding test results, suggesting innovative solutions, and knowledge sharing of successes.
o Guide assigned team(s)’ technology champions to increase the use of data analytics and to ensure data analytic efforts are logged; co-lead execution of use cases and plans coordinating with team contacts when necessary
o Train auditors to self-service or develop analytics within teams
o Capture and report on key projects/successes and material analytic results
o Ensure use cases are appropriately prioritized
o Monitor and report on data analytics usage.
o Create and maintain data analytic documentation.
o Interface with Digital, Technology, and Operations Services lines of business regarding application system particulars.
o Share knowledge with other Innovation Managers.
o Perform other duties as requested by CAS Management.

This role is hybrid. Team members who are in a hybrid role typically spend three days a week at a U.S. Bank location, while having flexibility on their work location for the other working days .
Preferred Skills/Experience
o Typically ten or more years of experience in data and analytics with experience from a large organization
o Advanced knowledge of digital transformation principles and concepts, including agile, scrum, and user experience design as well as data analytics tools such as Python, R, ACL, Power BI etc.
o Advanced knowledge of information security and systems, application controls and emerging technology utilization including but not limited to artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, advanced process automation, cloud and application program interfaces
o Ability to build and continuously improve working relationships with internal audit peers, business line leaders, and partners (risk and compliance).
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills, relationship building and negotiation skills. Ability to manage stressful situations
o Ability to independently address unique and complex conflicts with business line and effectively negotiate as needed.
o Understands the benefits of using data analytics and other techniques, and experience with usage within an audit.
o Thorough understanding of Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Standards and the common definition of internal controls.
o Relevant Financial Service Industry knowledge (e.g., Credit, Models, Regulatory Compliance, Lending, Operations, Trust, Treasury, Merchant Acquiring, Credit Cards, etc.).
o CompTIA Data+, Power BI Data Analyst, SAS Certified Data Scientist, Certified Analytics Professional, or other relevant professional designation or advanced degree.
o Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
o Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
o Proven adaptability to changing priorities

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, US Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401k contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $144,160.00 - $169,600.00 - $186,560.00
