Job Description
Corporate Audit Services (CAS) is the company’s independent internal audit organization and third line of defense. CAS brings a systemic approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes. Our comprehensive scope of responsibilities provides important insight and a broad perspective on all areas of the company, making us a valuable resource to executive management as they work to accomplish overall goals and strengthen internal control and governance.
CAS is the primary resource of the U.S. Bancorp Audit Committee in carrying out its duties. We provide them with timely and accurate information about the company’s many strategic, operational, financial and compliance risks as well as assurance that the risks are being well managed.
The Banking Products team has audit responsibilities for all small business, consumer, auto and mortgage lending and deposits, which is the single largest revenue source for the company. The team also has audit responsibilities for corporate and commercial lending and deposits as well as syndicated loas and a wide range of capital markets front office, trading desks, and back-office functions.
The Banking Products Senior Audit Manager - Innovation and Analytics will play an integral role in CAS, including leading, planning, and execution activities (engagement, semi-annual, annual) for the Banking Products team by leading teams to identify data driven insights in varying environments, as well as demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of project management. The successful candidate will collaborate with Banking Products team managers, other team leaders, as well as Data Analytics and Technology teams. They will oversee the Banking Products analytics plans, coordinating with Consumer, Commercial and Capital Markets SMEs. The candidate will report to key projects, successes, effective and insightful analytics and results to the Sr. Director, the Data Analytics team, CAS Leadership and Management as necessary. They will leverage CAS and company technology and tools to develop analytics when necessary and train Banking Products team auditors to increase self-service analytics within the team.
Duties:
Identify use cases for data analytics, data science and continuous auditing by examining the audit plan and brainstorming with assigned audit team(s) and CAS Data Analytics.
Facilitate an ongoing, formal partnership via a dotted-line relationship with the CAS Data Analytics team’s Data Science Manager.
Ensure planning meetings with CAS Data Analytics (engagement, semi-annual and annual) are scheduled, held, and documented.
Identify what tools and techniques are available for use against LOB applications and, at a high level, how they may be deployed to increase the effectiveness of audit testing.
Communicate regularly with assigned audit team(s), including assisting with understanding test results, suggesting innovative solutions, and knowledge sharing of successes.
Guide assigned team(s)’ technology champions to increase the use of data analytics and to ensure data analytic efforts are logged.
Ensure use cases are appropriately prioritized.
Monitor and report on data analytics usage.
Create and maintain data analytic documentation.
Interface with Technology Operations Services (TOS) and the lines of business regarding application system particulars.
Share knowledge with other Innovation Managers.
Perform other duties as requested by CAS Management.
Strategize approach and team analytics goals.
This role is hybrid. Team members who are in a hybrid role typically spend three days a week at a U.S. Bank location, while having flexibility on their work location for the other working days .
Preferred Skills/Experience
Understands the benefits of using data analytics and other techniques, and experience with usage within an audit.
Thorough understanding of Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Standards and the common definition of internal controls.
Relevant Financial Service Industry knowledge (e.g., Credit, Models, Regulatory Compliance, Lending, Operations, Trust, Treasury, Merchant Acquiring, Credit Cards [consumer and corporate], etc.).
Familiarity with, or usage of, one or more of the following (or comparable) tools: Tableau, PowerBI, SQL, Excel, SAS, WebFOCUS, ACL.
CIA, CPA or other relevant professional designation or advanced degree.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
Proven adaptability to changing priorities.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, US Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401k contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $129,455.00 - $152,300.00 - $167,530.00
