Job Title: Senior Associate, Enterprise Integration Services
Location: New York, NY This position reports to the NY Life headquarters in New York, NY. Applicants may work from a Home Office anywhere in the U.S.
Offered Wage: $169,229/year
Duties: Develops and supports the engineering of application programming interface (API) management technologies. Supports complex infrastructure in support of business-critical applications. Develops, tests, and documents integration solutions for business applications in all environments. Coordinates with upstream and downstream system stakeholders to troubleshoot integration and connectivity issues. Coordinates large-scale deployments, migrations, and new implementations. Analyzes and prepares releases according to business process dependencies. Automates manual tasks to increase accuracy and efficiency. Gathers requirements for Quality Assurance (QA) testing and secures consumer approval before deploying changes to the production environment. Supports deployments to production systems. Performs post-deployment technical verifications to ensure system functionality. Attends capacity planning, sprint planning, user story decomposition, effort estimations, daily scrum, sprint review meetings. Participates in functional and non-functional requirement review sessions to identify issues or gaps. Provides estimates for planned work for sprint planning. Provides on-call production support for 12-hour period, 8 days per month. Monitors production API logs, scheduled jobs, incident management. Fields and analyzes incidents and requests from end-users and responds with recommended solutions. Enhances communication and engagement strategies leveraging solutions and troubleshoots applications using Graph API, SparkPost, and SMS technologies to enhance communication and engagement strategies. Authors technical and process specification documents. Identifies and clears roadblocks for the team. Writes well-designed, testable, and efficient code according to industry standards and "best practices," including Git for version control; Agile methodologies for scrum; Jenkins for continuous integration and continuous delivery/continuous deployment (CI/CD); GitHub Pull Requests for peer code reviews; requirements, design and Application Programming Interface (API) documentation; Jira for issue tracking; and New Relic to monitor software performance, availability, and system health in real-time. Conducts defect triage meetings to help the QA team identify application and module requirements and technical behaviors.
Education & Experience Requirements:
Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus three (3) years of experience as an Enterprise Architect (or closely related occupation) designing and developing enterprise solutions within the life insurance domain.
Or, alternatively:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus five (5) years of experience as an Enterprise Architect (or closely related occupation) designing and developing enterprise solutions within the life insurance domain.
Required Skills:
Experience must include 2 years in each of the following:
(1) Performing software design and development leveraging Java, Python, C++, and Objective C;
(2) Performing enterprise and web application design and development, object-oriented analysis and design, support maintenance, and end user support;
(3) Performing application testing using JUnit, logging with Sumo Logic, and configuring project dependencies using Maven/ANT; and,
(4) Developing application programming interface (API) services leveraging MuleSoft, RESTful, and SOAP.
