About The Role
Who are we?
The Cybersecurity Team helps prevent The Times from becoming news.
We work to protect the newsmakers, its support staff and the platforms they rely on every day, all of The Times products and services, and the readers who consume them.
This is a senior-level role reporting to the Director of Information Security, Crisis & Incident Management. The purpose of the Incident Management & Business Continuity team is to minimize risk to business operations through proactive mitigation and crisis/incident response. As a member of the team, you will maintain and help mature The New York Times' business continuity program, collaborating with groups across the organization to assess risk, create plans, and train staff.
Responsibilities:
Build relationships with newsroom, business, technology and print functions to understand risks and partner on solutions.
Conduct business impact analysis interviews and create business continuity plans, incident response plans, and other materials.
Plan and complete program testing with table-top exercises, simulation tests, full interruption tests and drills.
Collaborate with technical teams on gap analyses, dependency mapping, risk assessments, and solution generation for disaster recovery planning.
Operate, maintain, and advance the emergency notification tooling system
Develop data-driven procedures, manuals, and documentation for processes and workflows.
Occasional travel required to our bureaus and business centers.
On-call rotation for off-hours support may be required for this role- contingent to incident response.
Basic Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in business continuity process development.
General technical knowledge required to understand dependencies of important business applications, the software development lifecycle, site reliability engineering, infrastructure and technical strategy.
Experience working and collaborating with a technical teams
Experience with techniques and methodologies for gathering and analyzing requirements and risks.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Business Continuity Professional designationThe annual base pay range for this role is between $125,00-$140,000.
