OverviewABOUT THE POSITION
Senior Air Quality Specialist | New York, NY
VHB is seeking a Senior Air Quality Specialist to manage and develop the existing air quality practice in our growing New York City office. This position will have the opportunity to help expand our air quality business in the New York metro area with the support and resources of our established New England practice. The successful candidate must be knowledgeable in stationary and mobile source air quality conformity & policy. The projects cover public and private sectors. Existing relationships and contacts in the New York metropolitan area is a plus.
Responsibilities
Air Quality skills necessary to support private and public-sector client needs, including but not limited to stationary and mobile source modeling, including construction air quality, stationary source permitting, New York City and State policies (CEQR and SEQRA), federal policies and regulations, preparation of air quality, construction air quality, etc. chapters for environmental documents
Greenhouse Gas (GHG) analysis knowledge and skills for CEQR, SEQRA and NEPA applicationsManaging client relationships including private developers, federal, state, local environmental agencies, and institutionsBusiness development in various client sectorsCoordination of air quality and GHG activities with other VHB officesProject Management Skills and Attributes
A strong background in air quality modeling & permitting, program/project management, and supervision of professional staffExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skillsProven ability to develop businessDemonstrated excellence in oral presentations and technical writing is essentialThe ability to manage multiple projectsExcellent teamwork and collaboration skillsThe ability to train, mentor, and motivate staff Noise and vibration experience a plusAEDT and airport experience a plusQualifications
Bachelor's Degree in engineering, meteorology, or related field (master's preferred)11-15 years of experience of air quality experience required15+ years of experience preferredCEQR, SEQRA & NEPA experience highly preferredKnowledge of EPA regulatory software: MOVES, CAL3QHC, AERMOD/AERSCREEN, etc. Knowledge of mobile and stationary source modeling and conformityAir quality experience with NYC agencies required (NYCDCP, NYCDEP, NYCOER, etc.)PE license is preferredOur best estimate of the salary range for this position located in New York City is $134,000-186,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.
