POLITICO is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Ad Operations Manager specializing in Google Ad Manager and proficient in trafficking tags to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Ad Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in managing and optimizing our digital advertising campaigns, ensuring seamless implementation, and maximizing revenue opportunities.
This opportunity is available across all four of our offices located in London, Berlin, Paris, or Brussels.
What will you do:
Oversee end-to-end ad campaign management, including ad trafficking, tag/creative implementation, custom targeting setup, to ensure accurate and timely execution across multiple platforms and devices.Lead and manage a team of 3, including setting objectives, providing support and guidance, running weekly 1:1s, etc.Serve as the go-to expert in Google Ad Manager and other ad platforms, provide strategic guidance to optimize ad delivery and maximize revenue generation within direct and programmatic demands.Develop and implement processes to improve AdOps efficiency and ad delivery effectiveness, keeping ad platforms access, documentation and workflows up-to-date.Manage ticketing system and provide technical support to Campaign Managers and other internal stakeholders regarding ad inventory, campaign setup, performance and reporting.Conduct regular quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with production guidelines, ad tech specificationsand industry standards.Create and send proposals to programmatic prospects, strategically support the Media Solutions team with RFPs, inventory estimations for PG&PMP dealsDefine programmatic yield strategies and maximize performance across main SSPs (A9, Magnite, OpenX, Xandr, IndexExchange, etc) to reach the yearly revenue goalContinuously monitor and analyze campaign performance metrics, including impressions, clicks, viewability, and performance benchmarks, to identify optimization opportunities and improve ad delivery and user experience.Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Campaign management, Brand Content Studio, Events and Marketing, to plan and launch effective ad campaigns, update trackers and achieve campaign KPIs.Escalate with Tech/BI teams to troubleshoot technical issues and ensure that ad campaigns are delivered and reported correctly across platforms and devices.
What you'll need:
5+ years of experience in media ad operations with a focus on ad serving technologies: Google Ad Manager, third-party ad servers, ad trafficking, DCM tags, HTML, Javascript, VAST, etc.In-depth knowledge of the online advertising industry including ad technology solutions within the DSP and SSP to publisher ecosystem strongly preferred.Must be proficient in MS Excel (Pivot tables, joining data sets, etc).Experience with CMS, Wordpress and web analytics (Google Analytics, GA4, Adobe Analytics, Omniture).Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and analyze campaign performance metrics.A complete grasp of campaign measurement metrics such as impressions, clicks, viewability.Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and provide technical support to stakeholders.Self-motivated and proactive in identifying opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.Prior experience managing 1st party data with DMPs is a plus (Lotame, Liveramp, Piano, etc).Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, or a related field (preferred).
