About Senior Actuarial Associate

  Job Classification:

  Actuarial - Actuarial

  The individual will be an integral part of the Forecast team within the Retirement Strategies Valuation & Projections team. Some key aspects of the individual's role will include producing short and long-term forecasts of key financial balances (AOI, GAAP, Stat, Tax) for the institutional retirement business (incl structured settlements, PRT, LRT), analyzing results, as well as explaining key drivers of results to team leaders and other business partners. This position requires problem solving, technical skills, and collaboration.

  The individual's responsibilities may include:

  • Execute quarterly processes supporting individual institutional retirement GAAP/Stat/Tax/AOI forecast

  • Assist in analyzing results, preparing and presenting results to senior leaders and other

  business partners

  • Work closely with Finance and Enterprise Valuation for forecast related deliverables

  • Work closely with Actuarial Modeling team and IT area to enhance existing capabilities and to

  ensure timely model production runs are performed

  • Enhance analytical tools and processes

  • Ad hoc research and development related to the institutional retirement business

  Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher

  • Must have at least 2 years of experience in the field of actuarial science

  • Actuarial Exams required

  • Some experience in institutional retirement and/or annuities is a plus

  • Highly motivated, proactive, attentive to detail

  • Ability to work on multiple projects and help resolve conflicting priorities

  • Strong verbal and documentation skills

  • Ability to communicate actuarial results to non-actuaries

  • Flexible to meet deliverables

  • Strong technical skills a plus (MS Excel, MS Access, SQL, python, C++, etc.)

  • Familiarity with actuarial software preferred (Polysystems, etc)

  Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $93,200.00 to $138,600.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
