The Senior accountant will support the Entity Controller with accounting activities. He / She will be performing assigned general ledger activities in a timely and accurate manner, will support the month end close process and will be responsible for the correctness of G/L entries in compliance with US GAAP, as well as local GAAP requirement and SOX compliance. The senior accountant will be responsible with US GAAP reporting and will support Consolidation team with any queries related to these entities, as well as requests related to Swissco. Taking into consideration the overall business and the level of complexity of the business activities, the senior accountant will be required working independently and good knowledge of accounting principles and theories.
Responsibilities:
• Perform US and Local GAAP month-end closing activities: journals booking, HFM reporting, month end schedules
• Prepares the month end accruals to ensure the entities revenue is not overstated/understated
• Checks the monthly variances at BS and P&L level and provides proper explanations for significant differences
• Prepares the cut-off analysis for month end (if applicable)
• Coordinates with site finance leaders and entity controllers to ensure timely flow of information, especially with regards to month-end accruals
• Prepares, reviews and controls accounting journals
• Ensure all journal entries comply with internal and external audit specifications
• Perform monthly account reconciliations, ensuring sufficient and quality back-ups, propose action plan for the differences identified and ensures the discrepancies are solved in due time
• Prepare periodically reports requested by local regulations (e.g. Statistics and other regulatory reporting)
• Produces routine reports, schedules, and summaries for management
• Support the annual US GAAP / statutory / SOX audits
• Ensure support external auditor and prepare deliverables for local statutory audit
• Prepares reports for local regulators
• Seek opportunities for automatization and process efficiencies
• May establish, modify, document and co-ordinate implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures
• Identify problems and update or modify working methods in own role and/or within the team
• Updated the existing procedures and trains the junior colleagues on the assigned tasks
We need:
• BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant"
• 3-5 years of experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Fluent in English
• Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• SAP and HFM experience is a plus
• Motivated self-starter; proactive in identifying issues along with recommending issue resolution
• Flexible about work content, timings and location
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Works independently, only exceptionally requires supervision.

• Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP's and pivot tables
