Description
Under the supervision of the Controller, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for various activities within the Accounting Department including but not limited to: monthly general ledger and bank account reconciliations, accounts receivable, assisting with financial reporting, preparation and review of journal entries and internal control procedures. This is a full-time permanent position at the DUS Headquarters in Anchorage, AK
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent
BS/BA in business, accounting or relevant field and 3 years of work experience, OR 7 years of relevant progressive work experience.
Must be able to successfully complete the company’s pre-employment process including a criminal and credit background check, drug test, and post-offer physical.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience using Sage 100 software.
Experience in oil and gas industry.
Experience in accounts payable and/or receivables.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Review general ledger accounts and reconciliations.
Preparing and reviewing monthly journal entries.
Assist with preparation of financial reports.
Coordinate and communicate with management and field personnel regarding accounting issues.
Research accounting related questions.
Comprehend contracts with varying levels of complexity.
Prepare and/or review invoices for specific contracts per client requirements.
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
