Facilitate and complete month-end closing procedures to include general ledger reconciliations, journal entries and have the ability to research and determine the most effective means of handling accounting transactions.
Supervise accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash receipts, cash disbursements and general ledger functions.
Maintain and create accounts within the accounting software for general ledger, accounts payable, and receivables.
Works with direct reports to establish goals and objectives each year and monitor progress to enhance professional development of staff.
Coordinate meetings with Strategic Planning and Analysis to communicate general ledger activity in relation to department budgets.
Support the Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements.
Assist CFO and Controller with annual financial audit and tax return (Form 990) preparation
Assist CFO and Controller with School Agreed Upon Procedures CPA Report Reviews
Research, develop and maintain accounting policies in accordance with GAAP

Skills and Requirements
Bachelors in Accounting
5-7 years of relevant accounting experience
Strong experience with Excel including Pivot Tables and VLookups
Experience with general ledger, preparation of general ledger and bank account reconciliations
Knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable subsystem, processes, and transaction processing operations. Non-profit accounting experience
CPA
Knowledge of Epicor ERP or similar system (JD Edwards, Quickbooks)
Tapalte payment system
