Job Summary
Serves as a key contributor to the generation and maintenance of consistentand accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Exercisesindependent judgment and discretion in planning and carrying out the detailsof work procedures and methods regarding the financial integrity of thecompany. Performs the month-end and year-end close process and annualfinancial statements audits. Researches and interprets complex accountingpolicies, processes and regulations while identifying potential improvementsto internal controls. Serves as a subject matter expert of accounting andfinancial reporting concepts and industry practices.
Responsibilities
Essential FunctionsPerforms the accurate and timely completion of month-end and year-end closeprocess.Performs monthly review and analysis of the company's general ledgeraccounts and prepares the company's financial statements.Prepares, processes and reviews journal entries by compiling and analyzingaccount information.Takes the lead role in assisting branch/regional/department/executivemanagers with questions regarding financial statements, reporting andtechnical support.Researches and interprets accounting policies and regulations and advisesmanagement to ensure compliance with GAAP.Identifies and implements potential improvements to BSE's internal controls.Supports annual external audits by analyzing and scheduling general ledgeraccounts and providing information for auditors.Investigates and resolves audit findings, account discrepancies, andissues of non-compliance.Assists leadership in mergers and acquisitions (due diligence, setup)and assists with the transaction and post-closing reconciliations.Contributes to the development of new or amended accounting systems,programs, and procedures.Non-essential FunctionsAssists Financial, Planning & Analysis team with compiling information forthe annual budget.Responsible for monthly and quarterly financial communication via the properinternal channels.Leads or assists with special projects as assigned.Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or other designate.
Qualifications
Minimum of a four-year accounting, finance, or business administration degree.Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting or related experience.A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar designation is preferred.Strong working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word,Access, and PowerPoint), Internet, Email and SAP software preferred.
