Job Duties and Responsibilities
DISH Wireless is seeking a Senior E911 Operations Engineer to join its Regulatory Engineering and Operations team. This role is responsible for the daily operations, testing, and troubleshooting of E911 Emergency Services for DISH Wireless and will report to the Head of Regulated Services.
The ideal candidate must possess a solid knowledge base and demonstrable prior experience testing, troubleshooting, and monitoring E911 technologies. The candidate must also have a good understanding of wireless E911 4G (LTE) and 5G (NR) call and text flows and must be familiar with E911 FCC regulations.
Prior working experience with Location-Based Services (LBS) technologies, including E911 vertical z-axis location accuracy and testing methodology, is highly desired.

In this role, you will:
Monitor and maintain the stability and performance of E911 systemsAssess service impacts and support maintenance activitiesDiagnose and resolve technical issues related to E911 systems. Analyze logs and collaborate with internal teams and vendors to identify and mitigate issuesImplement and test system enhancements, including new features, functionality upgrades, and break/fixesImplement best practices related to E911 operations to maintain compliance with regulatory requirementsMaintain accurate documentation, processes, and procedures for E911 operationsParticipate in troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis reviews and provide recommendations for process or system improvementsParticipate in E911 roadmap planning and vendor review discussionsDefine and implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track and report on E911 performance and compliance

Skills, Experience and Requirements
As a successful Engineer, you will have:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Telecommunications, or related technical field, and a minimum of 5 years of wireless engineering or operations experience. Relevant job experience will be considered in lieu of a degreeStrong technical knowledge and prior operational experience with emergency communication and location technologies, E911 and LBS systems, and telecommunications networksFamiliarity with FCC Rules and Regulations related to E911 with the ability to operationalize E911 technologies in a way that maintains complianceDemonstrated career progression, both in increasing responsibilities and skill development.Good verbal, written, and critical thinking skills with the ability to serve other organizations and teams as a 911 technical consultantAbility to support periodic maintenance activities, be on-call, and oversee network change management and testingUnderstanding of E911 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) required for performance tracking and reportingExperience with incident management and Root Cause AnalysisAbility to independently support multiple concurrent testing and troubleshooting efforts

Experience working with emergency service providers, Global Mobile Location Center (GMLC) providers, or public safety agencies is preferredExperience with Location-Based Services (LBS) and wireless accuracy testing is highly desiredExperience creating KPIs, processes, and workflowsExperience with FCC reportingExperience managing vendor and Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) relationshipsSalary Range

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total
compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
