  This position is responsible for managing the installations of mid-size to large complex installations that includes installing wire and programing devices for access control systems, analog and IP Camera systems, intercom systems, and intrusion detection systems. The systems will range from onsite systems to complex servers installed locally, on a cloud, or a virtual network. The Project Specialist III will also work with customers IT personnel to coordinate integrating to the customers network infrastructure; to wiring up patch panels, switches, and even terminating fiber optic connections as needed.

  ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following:

  Mentor and develop installers assigned to your team with lesser knowledge and experienceInterface with customer personnel developing relationships and demonstrating systems; providing training as neededUse technical manuals and interface with manufacturers technical support to troubleshoot problemsDrill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, and floors of varied material typesWiring of our installed systems conforming to NEC70Able to run horizontal and vertical EMT and ENT conduit per NEC70Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets; then position and terminate cables, wires and strappingExamine systems to locate problems such as loose connections or broken insulationInspect installation sites and study work orders, building plans, and installation manuals in order to determine materials requirements and installation proceduresUse test equipment such as multimeters, cable testers, and toners to test and repair circuits and sensors while following wiring and system specificationsTurnkey installation of mid-size to large complex systems for access control, CCTV, intercom, intrusion, and fire alarm following architectural drawings of electrical layouts and building plans under division 28Read and understand Division 28 construction documents to determine installation methods and requirements, and attending job site meetings as required.Provide daily and weekly reports to Brady managementOther duties and responsibilities as required to support the needs of the businessEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, legal regulations, and recommended best practicesCollaborate with all Associates to uphold the companys mission and valuesWORK HOURS:Monday thru Friday, periodically on-call basis, overtime/weekends as required

  High school or general education degree (GED)3+ years of maintenance or installation experience in security systems or relevant fieldKnowledge of networking LAN, WAN and mesh devicesFamiliarity with IPv4 and IPv6 IP addresses, MAC IDs, and how they interact with servers and field devicesConfiguring network devicesConfigure unmanaged network POE switches, and work with managed switches with the customer IT departmentFamiliarity with applicable sof ware such asCCTV: Exacq, Milestone, Video Insight, Avigilon, or similar systemsAccess Control: Open Options, Software House, Amag, S2, Kantech, Brivo, or similar systemsFire Alarm: Firelite, Vigilant, EST, Simplex, Autocall, or similar systemsProficiency with computer devices (including smart phones) and working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Apple iOS softwareMust possess a valid drivers licenseMust possess North Carolina Alarm Registrant within 30-days of hireMust possess OSHA 30Must possess 2 or more manufacturer certifications in access control that are currentMust possess 1 or more manufacturer certifications in CCTV systems that are currentAbility to pass a background check for North Carolina State Alarm LicensingAbility to pass drug screeningAbility to prove US employment eligibilityPHYSICAL DEMANDS and ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE:

  The physical demands of the position include:

  Occasional sitting; frequent stooping, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and climbing; and constant standing, walking, reaching, and gripping.Material handling demands include lifting from floor level to overhead, with occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. and frequent lifting up to 25 lbs., placing the position in the Medium Heavy Physical Demand Classification (PDC).Ability to carry, set up, and work off of A-frame and extension ladders.Must be able to talk and hear.Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.This position requires working outdoors, in mechanical/equipment rooms and possible extreme weather conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment, electrical equipment and wiring. The associate is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock (high voltage); and vibration. The associate is occasionally exposed to extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.
