Job DescriptionJOB TITLE: SECURITY GUARD - DOWNTOWN DENVER
POSITIONS AVAILABLE: Full-Time, Part-Time and Flex/On-Call
SCHEDULE POSSIBILITIES: All Shifts Available
COMPENSATION: $19.19 per hour
Candidates with a current Denver SGL may be able to start immediately,candidates without a current Denver SGL may have a delayed start of 3 to 4weeks for the licensing process.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB FUNCTIONS DESCRIPTION:
The Security Guard's primary goal is the identification and prevention ofsituations that might put the client and others at risk. This position istasked with providing a visible presence and deterrence and ready to tactfullyintervene where appropriate. You may interact with the public, attorneys,law enforcement and members of the judicial and corrections community.

Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent residentPossess a High School Diploma or GEDMust be able to obtain a Denver Security Guard LicenseExcellent customer service skillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsPass an extensive background check and drug screenMust have reliable transportation (an automobile preferred)Ability to work in culturally diverse settings

Have previous security experienceMilitary VeteranPrior law enforcementBi-lingual (Spanish)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Verbal de-escalation and requesting assistance to control, subdue,disarm, or apprehend persons threatening disturbances.Regulation of the direction and flow of the movements of the public.Enforcement of the rules, regulations, and policies related to crimereduction and facility operations.The protection against destruction and theft of clients' property.Protecting buildings and grounds (including all contents, occupants,customers, and visitors) by enforcing rules and regulations related tosecurity at the location.Being familiar with all relevant special and general orders.Assure that people within the assigned location are adhering to the requiredguidelines set forth by the Client.Conducting and reviewing safety inspections of all areas of the locationdisruptions to the business; mitigating risks that could affect theday-to-day operations of a facility.Recording information pertaining to the security of people, products, andvehicles, and reporting this to the security supervisor or, where sodesignated, the client's representative.Detection, control, and seizure of disallowed items: weapons, drugs,contraband.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Officers must be able to observe, walk, stand, sit, bend, stoop,and stretching or drive for extended periods of time in various weatherconditions. Ability to run, climb stairs, and carry fire extinguishers orother emergency equipment. Help restrain or lift a person; occasionally liftand/or move up to 100 pounds. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesightto record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports. Specific visionabilities required by this job include close vision, color vision,peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus;frequently required to use hands, handle, or feel objects or controls.
TIME COMMITMENT:
The start and end dates and hourly commitment of the position are flexible andcan be adjusted based on business/ management's needs.
