Job Title: -- Security Architect – Cloud Security and Data Protection
Job Summary: --The Security Architect for Cloud Security and Data Protection is responsible for supporting the maintenance of EMCOR’s Security Program with a focus on the company’s infrastructure, cloud, and identity platforms. This includes enhancing the information security management framework, supporting the user lifecycle management process, and monitoring the environment for internal and external threats. Extensive experience with cloud security technologies, identity (IAM) concepts, data security, and eDiscovery processes is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: --
Develop and implement cloud security architectures for EMCOR using Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Defender, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of cloud resources.
Utilize Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Entra ID to enhance threat detection and response capabilities.
Provide security guidance and/or support for other cloud assets hosted via non-Microsoft IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and enforce data security policies.
Leverage Microsoft Purview on Azure and Microsoft 365 for effective data discovery, classification, and governance.
Oversee and manage the eDiscovery process on Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
Stay informed about industry standards and evolving compliance requirements related to data protection.
Coordinate with legal and HR representatives on sensitive and confidential matters involving eDiscovery.
Develop and implement automated security workflows and orchestration processes to streamline security operations.
Conduct regular security audits and assessments on Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation measures.
Implement, at management direction, and monitor a strategic, comprehensive enterprise information security management system to ensure the integrity, confidentiality and availability of information owned, controlled, or processed by the organization.
Partner closely with other security team members, as well as those in other IT teams and operating companies to drive IAM/cloud security, maturity, and awareness.
Monitor the external threat environment for emerging threats and advise relevant stakeholders on the appropriate courses of action.
Track, manage and follow-up on existing security issues.
Work on special projects as required.
Qualifications: --
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, related field and/or equivalent professional experience.
Cyber security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, Microsoft Certified: Security, etc.) is a plus.
Proven experience as a system or security architect with experience in cloud security, data protection, Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, and IAM.
Experience with eDiscovery processes and tools.
Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and the ability to implement them effectively.
Experience and/or thorough understanding in most or all the following technologies/languages: Multifactor Authentication, SSO, LDAP, SAML, OAuth, OpenID, REST APIs.
Proficiency in automation and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Azure Logic Apps, PowerAutomate).
Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to convey complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong project management skills.
Support and maintain EMCOR’s Security Program.
