Our Security Alarm Technician Helper assists in the maintenance and installation of residential, commercial, and industrial security systems, access control systems, data, video, and other special systems. By working within many client environments and as a part of a highly-skilled technical team, the chosen candidate will accelerate his/her learning path, technical skill sets, and personal net worth. VeraPro is currently seeking an experienced Security Alarm Technician Helper to join the team.
Position Type: Full Time with weekend availability
Location: Prairieville, LA
Work Environment/Physical Demands: Residential/Commercial/light lifting
Travel Requirements: Commercial and Residential client visits
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (Other duties may be assigned):
Assist the Security Technician with preparation of jobs/service. Clean the vehicle from previous work, check and load wire, screws, hardware, etc.
Assist Security Technicians with the installation and service using ladders, hand tools, and power tools.
Install signs, stickers, clean up after the installation, load tools and hardware after the installation.
Maintain a position and professional attitude in any situation.
Coordinate travel schedule with the technician on the prior day.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace during the installation.
Remains educated and informed of industry trends in products, procedures, and services.
Maintain safe driving scores and safe work practices.
MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
State of Louisiana. Level 1 Property Protection licensing
Low Voltage Special Systems (under 50 volts).
Strong customer service skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated, organized, and solution advocate
Attention to detail
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment.
Familiarity with MS Word and Excel.
Ability to write reports containing technical information.
Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Conditions of Employment
Possession of a valid driver's license is a requirement for this job.
Must pass background check & drug screening

Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Light physical effort. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds or some standing or walking.
