What Your Job Will Be Like:
The Microelectronic Protection Technologies group has a need for an experienced S&E Project Manager that uses project management skills to plan, distribute, track, and execute a large number of technical projects for the group. The ideal candidate will have a technical background and degree along with experience in software/hardware security and SiPP sponsors. The job will involve interaction with other technical managers, technical leads and team members to determine the accurate technical approach taken for a technical project, assist in the proposal writing process, detail it in a resource loaded technical plan, communicate action items, and follow-up to ensure progress and timely delivery.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
Lead the programmatic aspects of the program as well as be required to have substantial technical understanding of the engineering products to be delivered.Be responsible for processes and/or activities involving costs, schedules, and assured technical performance. Lead project engineering teams while they support functions such as authoring and implementing project plans, estimating and managing costs, generating and overseeing coordinated schedules.Manage technical and programmatic requirements, manage technical and non-technical risks and opportunities, assure quality products, and manage information processes.Serve as a principal technical project lead for internal Sandia organizations, as well as customers and suppliers.Work in a peer-level relationship with the project technical leads to coordinate project management activities including project plan development and execution, project monitoring and control and coordinated change control for large, complex, and high-rigor projects.Use a strong technical understanding of the risks and opportunities to ensure that all are accurately prioritized and addressed.Collaborate with other Project Managers to improve and mature project management practices supporting the department, identify resource constraints and share lessons learned.
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.
Salary Range:
$101,400 - $201,400
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require:
Bachelor's degree in technical (STEM) field, such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a comparable relative field of study.You possess 5 or more years of S&E Engineering technical experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a comparable relative field of study.Experience working with business/finance support teams.Experience with cybersecurity or equivalent engineering or scientific experience that demonstrate the knowledge, skills and ability to perform independent research and development and job duties.You must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Q clearance.You must have the ability to obtain and maintain a SCI clearance, which may require a polygraph test.
Qualifications We Desire:
Ideally, we would like to see your experience include some of the following:
Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in a STEM field with Five (5) or more years' experience in hardware and software Cybersecurity or equivalent including engineering or scientific experience that demonstrate the knowledge, skills and ability to perform independent research and development and job duties.Current PMP certification or equivalent certification, or the ability to obtain within 12 months is preferred.Demonstrated experience in management of technical projects.Demonstrated experience stewarding positive relationships with DoD and OGA sponsors.Knowledge of and experience with standard project management practices including: scope management, project scheduling, cost estimation and management, quality assurance, communications planning and management, risk and opportunity management, and procurement management.Demonstrated teaming skills, including the ability to work effectively with other organizations, project sponsors and customers, and suppliers.Demonstrated organizational skills.Familiarity with Sandia project management best practices, procurement systems, financial reporting tools, and SiPP tools/processes.Active DOE Q and TS//SCI security clearances.
About Our Team:
The Microelectronics Protection Technologies program assesses, designs, and influences national-security related information systems and technologies by developing and applying tools to analyze complex information systems and technologies for vulnerabilities, and developing and transferring solutions to help protect the nation's most critical systems. Its mission is to develop and apply tools to analyze information systems and technologies, with focus on microelectronics and microsystems, including vulnerability assessments and technology protection.
We accomplish these missions by partnering across Sandia and with key government, academic and industrial collaborators. Our growing program portfolios necessitates growth of our team of cybersecurity research and development leaders.

Security Clearance:
