The AWS Distributed SQL team is building a next generation transactional database service offering the familiarity and power of full-featured SQL, virtually unlimited scalability from zero, consistent global transactions, fault-tolerant, and simplified operations.

Key job responsibilities
bout The Role:
The current role is for Control Plane team which is responsible for developing 10+ services ground up ranging from front end facing customer CRUD APIs, steady state heat/health management along with capability to scale from and to Zero, encryption, failover/failure recovery and many more. By working in the team you will get hands on experience on building globe scale services from scratch along with an opportunity to solve interesting/complex engineering and algorithmic problem.
An ideal candidate has experience in building databases or working on distributed systems, is able to dive into complex problems, work independently and is able to invent simple and elegant solutions. They are able to design, implement and deliver cutting edge software systems. They thrive on creative and collaborative problem solving, and also enjoy the challenge of operating services at AWS scale.

Basic Qualifications
3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
