Position Overview:
This is a critical role within the Consumer Communication Platformteam, aligning with CloudTech Business Unit. The Engineer is encouragedto take accountability for enabling automation andvarious platformneeds for technicaldeliveries. The engineer wouldbe responsible forthe development, unit testing anddelivery of premier-quality code. Many of our projects are basedonMicro services which brings in a great amount of stability andscalability to our architecture. We use best-in-class supporting tools like GitHub, Slack andwhatever elsemakes us productive.
Our processes are adaptedincrementally to adapt to our needs andas a team,we trust each other todo the job outstandingly well.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Collaborate closely with the Product Owner/Product Manager to comprehensively gather and comprehend business requirements for software development.
2. Prioritize writing high-quality, thoroughly tested, and maintainable code with an emphasis on accuracy from the onset.
3. Adhere to established development practices and actively engage in code refactoring to minimize technical debt.
4. Deliver top-tier, functional software that meets set specifications and agreed-upon timelines.
5. Conduct comprehensive code reviews for team members, offering constructive feedback to ensure adherence to coding standards and overall code quality.
6. Address product defects promptly and efficiently, including swift response to critical production issues.
7. Contribute innovative ideas and solutions within the development team to enhance project outcomes.
8. Work seamlessly within an Agile Scrum framework, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams comprising Product Owners, System Architects, Management, DevOps, etc.
9. Provide estimates for user stories in Story Points and detailed task estimates in hours.
10. Demonstrate technical leadership capabilities and assume end-to-end ownership of project track deliveries.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
1. 3-5 years of proven experience in software engineering.
2. Proficiency in Java programming language and its ecosystems.
3. Strong grasp and application of object-oriented programming principles.
4. Experience with Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data) and Hibernate.
5. Familiarity with web technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, RESTful APIs.
6. Hands-on experience with databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB.
7. Prior involvement in projects employing Scrum or similar Agile methodologies (Jira, Scrum).
8. Experience utilizing tools such as Datadog or Splunk.
9. Education: Any graduation or post-graduation, preferably in Computer Science Engineering or related fields.
