Job Description
Setup and configure SCADA hardware and software
Perform factory functional testing of programmed control systems, HMI, and SCADA
Develop engineered solutions and implements solutions to resolve customer issues
Modify PLC and HMI applications in the field
Writes own trip reports and provides daily work reports
Train customers on how to operate Tesco products; perform in-house simulations
Implement standard engineering practices
Document and track progress of project and report any issues to department manager
Troubleshoots control system control problems; implements software and hardware
solutions to resolve problems
Understand and assess client problems and determine appropriate means of solution
Interface effectively with other staff on multi-disciplinary projects
Successfully executes startups of large and/or complex projects
Act as technical lead of a project
Generate RFIs with minimal review necessary
Execute small projects with no review required
Strong knowledge of water/wastewater processes
Reverse engineer and make modifications to existing SCADA system
Develop error free SCADA tag databases, screens, scripting and customer reports
Provide on-site customer training and lead meetings
Mentor and train other employees on related tasks
Participate in formal training to maintain and expand the company knowledgebase of
current and emerging technologies
Perform all other duties as assignedIn field required -- travel
Insight Globals' client, a Waste Water Systems Integrator based in Sacramento or Temecula is seeking to hire a SCADA Engineer. They will be responsible, under moderate supervision, for development of SCADA applications for large or complex systems including documentation, screen development, tag databases, scripting, and reporting. Proficient with at least one SCADA package and supporting software/hardware. Assisting with development of standards for department. Developing strong rapport with Tesco internal teams, contractors, and with end customers. Ability to support the department manager and supervisors with departmental tasks to achieve our continuous improvement objectives.
Skills and Requirements
* Level II (5+ years of experience)
* Experience with Visual Basic and Microsoft SQL Server
* SCADA software platforms/manufacturers: AVEVA, Wonderware, FactoryTalk, Ignition, iFix, Fix32, VTSCADA, WinCC, Siemens
* Knowledge of current computer technology and TCP/ IP configurations
* Understanding of TCP/IP based protocols such as Modbus TCP, Ethernet IP
* Understanding of system architecture and Microsoft technologies, including licensing models
* Understanding of Industrial Control Systems Cybersecurity
* Experience with control systems networking and communications * Background/experience from a Systems Integrator
* Wastewater or water background/experience
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering null
