A Typical Day
The Sanitation Coordinator is responsible for leadership and guidance incoordinating efforts to validate, maintain and improve sanitationpractices and procedures while maintaining cost objectives of the Plan.Acts as member of the Food Safety Review Team (multidisciplinarycommittee designed to focus on food safety in the plant).
Job Responsibilities
Assist with training, teaching, and educating employees on companypolicies, procedures, and standards.
Maintain Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS), Sanitation Standard OperatingProcedures (SSOP) and annual Validations/Verifications. Use EMP datatrends to optimize and adjust master cleaning/sanitation schedules.Verify consist, proper execution of all CIPs and consistent completionof MSSs.
Lead CIP and sanitation efforts for all major cleaning events (cleanbreaks), new equipment, or equipment modifications.
Lead program to maintain all plant CIP systems including routine audits,instrumentation PM program, valve functionality and overall upkeep.
Perform routine plant audits and tear-down inspection of equipment andrecommend maintenance/repair needs for correction in order to complywith GMP/Food Safety standards.
Closeout GMP, Sanitation and Regulatory and Customer audit findings.
Monitor and control finished product quality results and environmentalmicrobial influence (Hygiene Zone impact), then implement resolution toout of trend (OOT) factors. Hygiene Zone includes air systems, dryprocesses, and packing rooms.
Compile routine professional reports consistent with HCC/HI managementcontrol and reporting practices. Distribute these reports to Operations,Technical, Quality, and SCM.
Interact with other Sanitation Coordinators, Quality and SCM to developa more streamlined tracking and reporting process for chemicals at thepoint of use. Including monitoring daily chemical usage.
Place high priority on food safety and sanitation by understanding andexecuting HCC\'s food safety, sanitation policies, procedures andcompliance to SQF code.
Prioritize safety above all other job duties by having a safety firstapproach at all times.
What You Will Need
High School Diploma and 6 years related experience OR Associate\'sdegree and 5 years experience OR Bachelor\'s degree plus 3 years relatedexperience OR Masters degree.
Able to demonstrate leadership, critical thinking, interpersonal, andorganizational skills.
Knowledge of production operations management for quality, yield andcost.
Annual completion of Food Safety overview training.
What Will Put You Ahead
Bachelor\'s degree plus 5 years related experience OR Masters degreeplus 1 year related experience
3 years of advancement through progressive managerial positions whereHACCP, GMP, SPC, Food Safety and Quality Systems, P&ID, CAD, PLCControls, Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulics are common.
Experience with Programming of CIP systems, preventive maintenance of pumps, valves, motors, and storing and dispensing of equipment.
Knowledge of chemical types and their effect on soil and soil loads mustbe demonstrated, and ability to advance basic knowledge.
Physical Demands
The role has periods of time when the work environment is sedentary andconducted in an office environment balanced with frequent occasions thatrequire prolonged walking or standing, lifting/ carrying/handlingmoderate weight objects on a regular basis. Is required to wear PPE andhave a regular presence in manufacturing and warehouse environments inboth temperature controlled and uncontrolled locations. Must frequentlyinteract with people verbally.
