About this role
We are seeking a seasoned Salesforce Technical Architect to join our team at Aperio by BlackRock. As a Salesforce Technical Architect, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust, scalable, and secure solutions on the Salesforce platform with a focus to build custom reusable web components, data integrations and solve technical challenges for multiple business units. You will serve as a lead in a multi-functional team that addresses strategic business initiatives involving customer relationship management, client onboarding, investment operations and servicing workflows.
Our highly customized growing multi-org Salesforce setup acts as a central system that serves end-to-end prospect to client lifecycle journey and supports full range of asset & wealth management services provided by our lines of business. To ensure success in this role, you should be familiar with Salesforce event-driven messaging bus, development tools, APIs, and be comfortable with hands-on development for 70-80% of time working closely with product owners, developers, cross-functional engineering, data engineering and infrastructure teams. You will work with a growing team of technical professionals with a critical position to allow the Salesforce product and development team to deliver solutions at scale without introducing more tech debt.
Key responsibilities
Influence a growing team while acting as a technical guide, being able to speak conceptually, document architecturally and be comfortable doing hands on coding as wellDesign scalable solutions using a mixture of configuration and code to support business functions and product goals, knowing how to work in and around the limits of the platformCreate and maintain Salesforce-centric architecture diagrams, including system landscape, ERD, integration sequence flows, login flows, etc. of current state and futureCommunicate with product managers, cross functional development teams, network infrastructure, information security, data privacy & compliance and salesforce solution architects to ensure a cohesive technical strategy is designed and executed uponBe part of the entire development lifecycle of a product from the intake, architecture, development, testing, deployment, and maintenanceSupport and maintain current Salesforce instance(s), including the data model, coding best practices, user permissions, integrations with third party and internal applications, security settingsDesign and implement integrations between Salesforce and external systems, utilizing Salesforce APIs, middleware tools, and custom development. Identify integration patterns, recommend integration technologies, and ensure data integrity and securityPossess in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Salesforce platform, including its declarative capabilities, data model, security model, and integration options. Stay up to date with the latest Salesforce releases, features, and functionalities, and provide guidance on leveraging new capabilitiesCreate and maintain technical documentation, including solution design documents, technical specifications, data models, and architectural diagrams. Ensure that all technical documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and easily understandable by technical and non-technical stakeholdersCommunicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing guidance, recommendations, and explanations as neededStay current with emerging Salesforce and industry trends, best practices, and technologies. Identify opportunities for process improvement, system optimization, and automation to enhance the overall efficiency, performance, and user experience of Salesforce solutions
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or related fieldSalesforce Certified System Architect or Salesforce Certified Technical Architect certifications preferred10+ years of software development background with prior core Java experience7+ years' experience in Salesforce Development including Custom Objects, Apex, Triggers, Web Services, Visualforce, REST APIs, SOAP Web Services and Migration Tools4+ years' experience in building custom UI solutions using Salesforce Lightning design system (SLDS), Salesforce Lightning UI, LWC, web technologies (HTML 5, CSS3, XML, jQuery, JavaScript)Experience with Salesforce Platform events, Streaming API, Change data captureExperience with Salesforce APIs, Salesforce connectors, middleware solutions like Kafka, MuleSoftExperience in an Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure ecosystem (+)Experience working with / in financial services (+)

For New York City and California only the salary range for this position is $161,500 - $200,000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
