Location/Division Specific Information
The Chemical Analysis Division (CAD) provides a diverse mix of analytical instruments and associated services to a broad range of end user markets including Safety & Security, Environmental, Food Safety, Energy, Mining, Life Science Manufacturing and Recycling, to name a few. Its instruments are deployed in the field and on the line, in challenging environments where customers put a premium on robustness, reliability and ease of use. They allow them to make decisions where they operate and streamline their businesses. CAD is a complex division with a global footprint, broad product portfolio and diverse customer base.
How will you make an impact?
The Account Manager provides sales expertise and Product Inspection account management for the given territory, leading all selling and commercial activities within existing and prospective markets for the Production Process and Analytics (PPA) business unit of the Chemical Analysis Division (CAD). This Account Manager maintains effective customer relations, develops opportunities for growth within the territory, and assures market penetration and profitability while achieving sales and profit forecasts.
What will you do?
Achieve forecasted sales goals for territory, supporting external partners and selling directly to customers.Develop and implement the annual sales plan to meet and exceed territory sales revenue targets, including strategies to:Develop partnerships and/or good working collaborations with other Thermo Fisher businesses to enhance market positioning and intelligence.Prepare quotations and tender submissions for the territory in liaison with management and follow-up with customers for products and services.Regularly communicate with all departments involved in product manufacturing with regards to dispatch times, spare parts information and availability, documentation, etc.Provide support and assistance to customers, OEM's and engineering firms that will improve long-term business results and relationships.Maintain and continue to develop an outstanding knowledge of our products and their applications.Select, train and empower Independent Sales Organizations (ISO) to optimize achievement of our sales goals via their efforts.Provide forecasts, weekly reports, marketing intelligence and information to supervisor and other company personnel as the need arises. Utilize Salesforce.com daily by updating and adding notes, customer information, etc.Available to travel overnight approximately 50% of time.Report sales data effectively through CRM and other tools.
How will you get here?
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering related field highly preferred.
Experience:
Must Have:
2+ years of relevant sales experience in any of the following areas - Electro-mechanical, Machine Automation and or Controls background.
Preferred Skills:
Prior experience selling inline Metal Detectors, Checkweighers and X-Ray Inspection in Food & Beverage Packaging is a bonus.Electro-mechanical background preferred. Machine Controls, Instrumentation, and Logic experience is a plus.Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skillsComputer proficiency in MS Office toolsOrganizational skills, ability to multi-task and meet deadlinesProven commercial excellence working in a matrix environment.
