This is an individual contributor role that reports to the Manager of Global Supply Chain Safety. This position requires extensive understanding of employee safety in concepts and practices. Candidate must be able to work within a team environment as well as independently.
Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement a Global Behavior Based Safety ProgramAssist in a variety of audits from both internal and external sourcesAssist in developing written safety plans through research, interviews and reviewing areas, equipment, processes, and work activitiesDevelop and implement Risk Assessments in the workplaceWork with training development teams to ensure employee onboarding and other mandatory trainings as required meet regulatory complianceAnalyze and compile data and generate reports, verify data, and distribute reports as directedCollaborate with employees at all levels while guiding and documenting the incident analysis process as it relates to safety eventsMaintain records such as training data, inspection data, safety audits, and other related documentationPromote platforms for continual improvement, such as Quality, Lean, 5S, CIP, etc. to help drive excellence in global safetyImplement and organize events promoting safety as may be assignedCollaborate with cross functional team at all levels to accomplish shared project goalsDevelop, implement, and participate in other projects as assignedInvestigate incidents and complete root cause determination of all safety events. Provide immediate safety support as needed. Make recommendations for corrective actions to eliminate or minimize potential hazards. Complete all follow up activities assigned.Review and maintain all safety Near Miss recordsVisible as a Safety Resource for all employees, contractors, and visitorsConduct and/or communicate internal safety training programs as assigned. Conduct new employee safety orientation and onboarding, as assignedEnsure assignment and completion of all required safety trainingSchedule and conduct monthly safety calls as needed with Organization LeadershipAssist in the development and maintenance of Hazard & Risk Assessment programsSupport engagement with Employee Safety CommitteesMore specific responsibilities include:
Lead PIT training for the facilities in both areas of newly hired employees and refresher type training.Maintain First Aid and Emergency supplies as needed from chosen vendors.Maintain facility emergency equipment such as Fire Extinguishers, Emergency lighting, Eyewash and Safety Shower units.Lead site Emergency Response Team.
