The Safety Coordinator is responsible for assisting/leading in planning, directing, implementing, and promoting ICG's safety activities. The ideal candidate will have the ability to utilize critical thinking skills to identify issues; work independently and as a team member; have knowledge and understanding of new residential and commercial projects.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and implement programs to train superintendents and employees in work site safety and installation practices.Plan, implement, and promote safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.Organize and facilitate safety meetings and coach personnel on the JSA process, as well as other company training programs and initiatives.Coordinate and perform job site inspections to detect existing or potential accidents and health hazards.Collaborate with onsite personnel to determine corrective and or preventative measures where a hazard has been identified and follow up to ensure measures have been implemented.Work with Superintendents to develop job site safety plans.Develop and implement solutions to mitigate identified workplace safety hazards.Participates in accident and injury investigations to determine root causes and preventive measures. Recommend and implement corrective action if required.Maintain safety training and document all required safety & production training. Maintain all safety and compliance records/reports as required by the Company and law.Modify and update existing training programs and materials as required.Coordinate and provide company and customer-required training to employees and subcontractors.Identify and communicate personnel training requirements to management.Assist in recruitment and participate in job fairs.Maintain training database to document all training.Without direct reports
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Must be highly organized, detail oriented, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and have a thorough knowledge of construction processes and management techniques.Experience coordinating training in a construction and manufacturing environmentProven ability to complete a full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate)Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments and departments
