What we need from you:

Candidates with a high school diploma are required.
Read and interpret basic safety documents.
Demonstrate knowledge of OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) as it applies to specific plant operations (OSHA certification preferred)
Confirm a satisfactory current job performance and safety record.
Safety experience in a production environment preferred.
Work in a variety of temperatures
Demonstrate strong communication skills, and reasoning skills to provide a positive work environment.
Communicate in English (verbally and through writing) to accurately create and document company reports.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Bilingual language skills in English and Spanish
Demonstrate intermediate level proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for safety inspection and providing inputs for safety improvements for plant manufacturing.
Inspects machinery processes and procedures to ensure good health and safety practices.
Monitors the production line and check if workers follow safety rules.
Conducts daily safety training for new and current employees.
Conducts safety training on a regular basis (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly, etc.) for new and current employees. Conducts plant EHS orientation when necessary.
Carries out examinations of machinery, working environments and structures, taking measurements of noise, heat, and vibrations, and taking photographs and samples where necessary.
Ensures workers are provided with suitable protective equipment, such as ear protection or appropriate types of gloves, clothing, and additional PPE.
Investigate precautions taken to prevent industrial diseases.
Completes the investigation and the documenting of procedures for working in hazardous environments or with potentially harmful substances.
Completes the investigation and documents accidents and complaints and determine if there has been a breach to health and safety law.
Reports on results of inspections and investigations.
The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required; including but not limited to bump cap, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs, hair and beard nets, gloves and safety shoes or rubber boots.
