JOB SUMMARY:The Rural Outreach Specialist will be responsible for implementing and maintaining a rural street outreach program to individuals who are homeless, mentally ill, and/or co-occurring substance abuse. The Rural Outreach Specialist will advocate for these individuals by connecting them to the appropriate community resources, based on their needs, including behavior health services, housing, medical care, income and benefits support, and recovery support. Because homelessness is often less visible in rural areas, the Rural Outreach Specialist will be responsible for monitoring the streets, communicating with shelters, and pay close attention to individuals utilizing shared housing arrangements.QUALIFICATIONS:? High school diploma or equivalency? Valid Driver's License and the ability to be insured under the agency's policy? Must meet local standards for Peer Specialist certification in the state of Ohio
