RSG RISK ASSESSMENT ANALYST
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
Reporting to the SVP of Risk Strategy & Governance (RSG), this position, in the Second Line of Defense (2LOD), will be responsible for supporting the development and operation of City National Bank's (CNB's) Risk Strategy & Governance program. The position supports the implementation of the Bank's risk objectives, to include assisting with the development of a number of RSG risk programs such as Reputation Risk, Product Risk, and Strategic Risk. The role will require general knowledge in bank risk management specific to 2LOD functions, with specific focus on all three risk categories, and extends to the governance of these categories (e.g., policies, standards, procedures, reporting, etc.). The role will also require work in a number of other areas of RSG.

What you will do
Support the development and expansion of RSG's risk management programsLead the program management side of other RSG risk analysis and assessment functions, as defined by RSGDevelop and manage RSG programs specific to addressing regulatory, audit, and self-identified issuesAssist with the development of the governance programs and structure for any additional in-scope covered risks, as neededAssist with the development and annual updates of in-scope RSG policies and governance processesDevelop, monitor, maintain, and deliver recurring analytical reports, to include report dashboards, with key risk metrics within the risk disciplines owned and management by RSG, and, where applicable, design new reporting solutions and produce relevant dashboardsMonitor, address, and report all in-scope audit, regulatory, and self-identified issues and findings specific to the risk categories managed by RSGSupport horizontal regulatory programs in scope for the risk management organizationProvide general assistance and, where applicable, lead RSGs involvement in cross-functional risk assessment exercises (e.g., Risk ID, etc.)Support the development and expansion of the Bank's Reputation, Strategic, and Product Risk programsLead the program management side of the Material Risk Taker analysis and assessment functionOwn the development and delivery of the annual MRA Assessment MemoLead the processes to address all ad-hoc requests, as applicableDemonstrated knowledge of bank products, and background in Product Risk and Product Risk assessments preferred
Must-Have
Bachelor's DegreeMinimum 6 years of experience in a corporate settingMinimum 5 years combined experience in risk management / bankingMinimum 3 years of experience with MS Office
Skills and Knowledge
Ability to work locally in the downtown Los Angeles office, or ability to travel regularly, is requiredProven experience working within risk management functions at financial institutions (e.g. Credit Risk, Operational Risk, Compliance Risk, Enterprise Risk, etc.), preferably larger institutions subject to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency's (OCC) requirements for Heightened StandardsDemonstrated knowledge of and background in 2LOD Risk governanceDemonstrated knowledge of and background in risk assessment and reportingDemonstrated knowledge of risk mitigation and internal controlsDemonstrated knowledge and experience building and administering risk assessments and risk assessment programs across corporationsProven experience in risk governance and risk governance programsUnderstand and manage 2LOD business processes and develop risk taxonomies for in-scope covered risk and controlsWorking knowledge of bank or finance products preferredExcellent written and verbal communication skills, i.e., ability to write technical memoranda and communicate effectively with all levels of managementMust possess demonstrated ability to think critically and facilitate change through collaborative effort. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skillsMust be able to capture and critically evaluate business problems/requirements and translate into working solutionsInnovative thinking skills, strong work ethic, and problem-solving skillsProactive work style used to consistently communicate project status, issues and completion plansExperience using GRC software packages / tools (e.g. Archer, OpenPages, MetricStream, etc.) a plus
Compensation
Starting base salary: $87,027 - $138,965 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
