Overview
This Second Line role leads the administration of FCB's Operational Risk Stress Testing (ORST) Program.
ORST is a key element of FCB's Operational Risk Management approach focusing on the estimation and reporting of operational losses resulting from material operational risk stresses, particularly those that could materialize during periods of stress and/or are idiosyncratic to FCB. ORST informs FCB's unique operational risk profile, is a key contributor within the Enterprise Scenario Design process and supports the Capital Adequacy Process (CAP).
To perform this role, a prominent level of interaction is required with 1st and 2nd Line associates at all levels of the organization facilitating and executing operational loss estimation processes as well as continued project management execution to enhance the program and documentation in adherence with industry standards surrounding regulatory stress testing.
Responsibilities
Risk Oversight & Monitoring - Provides objective oversight of risks through effective challenge using defined methodologies and subject matter expertise. Provides leadership, consultation, and support for risk management. Fosters business unit relationships and implements training to promote engagement in risk management programs, including compliance with all risk policies and standards. May assist with presentations, workshops, and other materials as necessary to communicate risk management tactics. May provide guidance to less experienced associates in the department.Risk Management Proficiency - Maintains a strong knowledge of risk management developments or changes within the organization, industry, and market. Develops active relationships within professional networks to stay current on emerging issues and regulatory requirements. Communicates risk vision and regulatory requirements to applicable stakeholders, including less experienced associates in the work group.Business Support - Provides support for business programs, initiatives, and leaders. Serves as a consultant on risk best practices, processes, and regulatory requirements. Facilitates reporting and interdepartmental collaboration.Exam Support - Assists with internal audits through partnership with both internal and external auditors. Works closely with regulatory agencies and assists regulatory exams. Ensures that all auditing or exam preparatory needs are met.Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Financial Services, Enterprise Risk Management, Operational Risk Management, Compliance, Audit, Finance, or Accounting OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Financial Services, Enterprise Risk Management, Operational Risk Management, Compliance, Audit, Finance, or AccountingAdditional Requirements:
Knowledge of regulatory guidance pertaining to capital planning, enterprise risk and operational risk (e.g., FDIC, OCC, FRB, CFPB, etc.)2+ years of experience with Stress Testing, reporting and projection of scenario-based stress testing resultsAbility to directly interact with key internal stakeholders and communicate effectivelyAbility to leverage relationship management capabilities and demonstrate problem solving skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and writtenExceptional organization, analysis, decision making and problem resolution skills Uses independent judgment and creativity to accomplish objectives Must be able to meet deadlinesAdvanced PC Skills including Microsoft Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint
Other Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, etc.)Experience working in a Category III or Category IV bankExperience working in Capital Planning, Stress Testing, and/or ForecastingPrior experience with development of end-user guidance, process workflows, controls, targeted communications, and training
The base pay for this position is relative to your experience but the range is generally $98,000 to $140,000 per year. This position is eligible for variable compensation, which may be in the form of incentive, bonus, or commission pay.
