Job Description Summary
Responsible for performing data management, complex analysis and modeling that maximizes profits and asset growth and minimizes credit and operating losses and other risk exposures. Would provide data and analytical support on various product strategies to ensure company goals are met. Coordinates the production of databases, and performance reports for senior management. Manages the review and analysis of trends in current population distributions and recommends strategies. Directs the development of more complex databases, program models to extract data and use databases to provide statistical and financial modeling. Oversees the data design, analysis of portfolio trends, loss trends, portfolio dynamics. Integrates the analysis team with other corporate units to ensure alignment of analysis with business strategies and objectives. Responsible for hiring and training Risk Analysis Specialist and Risk Analysis Analyst.
Role Description:
• Responsible for performing routine and ad hoc complex data analysis, Asset Quality (AQ) reporting and monitoring, portfolio and industry analysis across several LOBs to aid in maximizing profits and asset growth and minimizing credit and operating losses and other risk exposures.
• Provides analytical support on various credit risk strategies to ensure company goals are met.
• Reviews, analyzes, and interprets AQ and industry portfolio trends, loss trends, portfolio dynamics, and risk rating migration to determine root causes, propose and implement solutions.
• Provides analytical support and coordinate the production of AQ performance reports, portfolio reviews, quarterly regulatory updates, industry analysis, forecasting and risk appetite limit setting for Senior Management.
• Maintain and manage reporting, analytics, and Tableau dashboards.
• Develops additional report content using dashboards and other sources.
• Support of ongoing routines, reporting and ad hoc projects related to third party oversight.
• May participate in or develop complex program models to extract data and use databases to provide statistical and financial modelling.
• Duties primarily include the regular use of strategic, critical thinking skills and sound, independent judgment.
• A working knowledge of the department or business unit's functional area or product, general bank policies, and programs.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience in GWIM, strongly preferred.
• Ability to analyze data to draw business-relevant conclusions using data visualization techniques and tools.
• High attention to detail and quality work product(s).
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities with time sensitive deadlines.
• Highly responsive to ad-hoc information requests.
• Proficient in query and reporting analysis tools; Excel (macros, pivot tables, lookups).
• Experience with Tableau driven dashboards & analytics.
• Advanced analytical skills demonstrating the ability to learn how to navigate systems, access data, reconcile numbers from different sources, identify discrepancies and understand drivers of change within data.
• Problem solver with ability to take ownership of tasks and drive through challenges.
• Strong business partnering experience / skills including the ability to interact, communicate and influence equally well within all levels of an organization.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
