Revit Drafter - Commercial Construction - Goshen, IN
We are actively hiring for a Revit Drafter to support General Contractor Commercial Construction in the Michiana area! This team focuses on project development, pre-construction, general contracting, construction management, design/build, and building maintenance services for their clients. This will include a variety of project types, such as: multi-family, industrial, banks, retail, athletic facilities, and healthcare facilities. This role is open due to the growth and development of the in-house design team, which was established within the last couple of years and continues to expand its offerings for clients and projects. This is a great opportunity for someone with a couple years of experience to support a stable workload of construction projects while helping a team continue their long-term growth plans.
Job Responsibilities:
Attend project design meetings as needed to ensure knowledge of project scope, manage the design process, and ensure design output requirements
Develop, design, and document all information needed with Revit/AutoCAD to effectively price and construct the proposed building project
Work with Project Development team to determine Project Documentation needs for design development and pricing
Work with Construction Team to determine final Project Documentation needs for construction
Visit project sites to document conditions, obtain pertinent information as required, and gain firsthand understanding of existing conditions
Document all information needed for state and local building approval process, as well as all information needed to construct the proposed project
Draft mechanical and electrical documentation with information provided by contractors or consultants
Provide additional clarifying information as requested by the construction teams and Manager of Design Services
Develop all documentation with an emphasis on accuracy, thoroughness, and in a timely manner
Maintain understanding of new construction materials and details, as well as all current and new building code requirements
Attend in-house and external design meetings as needed
Job Requirements:
4+ years of experience in Commercial Construction Design
Proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD to create Construction Documents and perform design
Ability to conduct and attend in-house project meetings and external meetings with client and consultants
Collaborate with internal construction teams and design team
Preferred but Not Required - Revit experience and proficiency
Miscellaneous:
This team is transitioning to do more design in-house, and as such, will continue to grow. There will be opportunities to become a Project/Design Leader, if candidates are interested in that career path.
This team will be targeting around $15-20 million of in-house design projects per year, so the workload will continue to be steady and consistent.
This person will have the opportunity to work on projects from the start through design development and construction, and will also have the ability to meet with clients throughout the process. This is a great chance to develop skillsets within full project life cycle management and client relationships.
