  Revenue Cycle Physician Advisor

  Summary:

  Provide support services to utilization management, care management, denials management, and the organization's evolving needs.

  Work Schedule: Part Time (12 hrs/wk), Days

  Responsibilities:

  Focus in either Utilization Management/Care Management/Denials Management and expected to be cross trained to allow critical coverage for all areas as needed, including but not limited to: UM case review, peer-to-peer review for medical necessity, appeal writing/supervision.

  Interfaces with treatment teams, serving as the physician leader/educator regarding medical necessity, denial mitigation strategies, access, throughput and discharge planning, with responsibility for achieving agreed upon KPIs.

  Serves on local/regional Utilization Management and specialty committees and may be asked to Chair these committees.

  Lead the preparation of the strategic and financial plans for the area. Oversee capital budget requests.

  Actively promotes a culture of patient safety in a collaborative practice environment and serves as a role model to colleagues and staff.

  Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

  Requirements:

  Graduate of an accredited medical school and residency program.

  Unrestricted Colorado Board of Medical Examiners physician license.

  Unrestricted DEA permit to prescribe all medications commonly prescribed in the course of practice.

  Board certification or eligibility for Board certification by American Board of specialty.

  Unrestricted medical staff membership at a system hospital, with appropriate practice privileges. If primary practice facility is not a system hospital, then appropriate documentation must be submitted showing privileges at the primary practice facility. Appropriate credentialing through Medical Staff Services office required.

  Eligible to provide reimbursable Physician services and maintain provider status with Medicare and Medicaid.

  5 years' experience in area of specialty.

  The pay range for this position is: $0.01 - $500.00 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
