We are looking for a Revenue Accountant to manage the month-end close activities of the Revenue Operation team and ensure accurate and timely reporting of revenue results to management. The Revenue Accountant will also ensure that revenue recognition is in compliance with accounting standards and that SOX controls are performed and working effectively.
Job Details:
Prepare monthly account reconciliations for revenue related GL accounts (e.g. Deferred Installation Revenue, Deferred Revenue, Unbilled A/R, Revenue related Balance Sheet Accounts. Etc.)Prepare monthly and quarterly manual journal entries related to revenue accounts and Balance Sheet accountsPerform monthly, quarterly, and annually Balance Sheet fluctuation analysis and investigate unusual fluctuations and prepare adjustments if neededPerform monthly process for Contractual data, billing data and unbilled data using revenue management tool (i.e. RevPro) to recognize revenue and perform data validation procedures to ensure accuracy of data transferred between systemsPrepare periodic management internal reportsManage internal and external auditor requests including revenue sampling audit, internal controls testing and quarterly review/audit and year-end audit documentsPerform ad hoc projects and prepare ad hoc reports as neededIntegrate data from multiple external sources into unified reportsDocument and maintain revenue desktop procedures and identify areas of improvementParticipate in system testing during monthly bill test, UAT, system changes, enhancements, and bug fixesEnsure compliance with revenue controls.Partner with key stakeholders to minimize revenue leakage.Maintain a high level of internal customer satisfaction.May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
At least 3 years of experience in Revenue accounting preferredBS/BA degree or equivalent experience, CPA is preferredPublic accounting or Technical revenue recognition experience is a plusStrong analytical and process skills; strong attention to detailDetailed knowledge of full cycle accounting issues and treatmentExperienced with Oracle Cloud ERP, RevPro revenue management tool is a plusExperienced in Microsoft Access/SQL database, Hyperion will be usefulBasic knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements requiredStrong communication skills, both oral and written
