Reporting to the Manager, Retirement & Financial Well-being, this position is primarily responsible for daily administration of GEICO's retirement plans and financial well-being programs. This role will oversee 401(k), pension, non-qualified and financial well-being programs. This candidate will serve as a member of the Total Rewards team and will work closely with internal groups (e.g., HR, Finance, Legal, Tax, Controllers, Procurement, Internal Communications) to deliver best-in-class Total Rewards programs and develop an overall strategy for financial well-being for our associates.
Responsibilities Coordinate with third party administrators, legal and internal parties to ensure the retirement plans are administered in accordance with plan documents and requirementsBe responsible for the support of retirement plans related compliance testing and audits (IRS, Department of Labor and other internal and regulatory requirements)Serve as a point of contact for escalated participant issues requiring specific and accurate retirement plan expertise, and ensure issues are resolved timelyMaintain knowledge of plan processes and procedures, and identify opportunities for improvementStay abreast of regulatory changes, routinely review plans to ensure compliance, and coordinate any needed communications and noticesAssist in the analysis, data collection, and document review for major retirement plan eventsComplete necessary reconciliations as neededAct as a point of contact for technology and systems operations and issues that impact retirement plan administrationAnalyzes and manages data integrations, takes required actionsServe as subject matter expert for retirement plans for internal partners, HR and vendorsAssist with other projects as required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related areaCEBS or ASPPA designations preferred or willingness to obtain1+ years of experience working in the design and administration of multiple retirement and well-being programsStrong project management, process development and organizational skills with strong attention to detailStrong understanding of 401(k), pension and the deferred compensation plan administrationStrong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to perform detailed analysis of problems and identify resolutions; understands when and how to escalate issues to manage riskAbility to handle confidential information, work independently within broad guidelines and policies, exercise solid judgement and build business cases to support recommendationsResults-oriented; successfully handles multiple tasks, takes initiative to improve his/her own performance, works intensely towards challenging goals and persists in the face of obstacles or setbacks while maintaining quality of workWorking knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and compliance requirements related to retirement plans (such as ERISA, Fiduciary responsibilities)Strong written and oral communication, and presentation skills and the ability to deliver exceptional client serviceAble to thrive in both in office and/or virtual work environment where teams may be spread amongst multiple locationsStrong interest in and knowledge of retirement, benefits, and financial well-being leading practicesAdvanced computer literacy: advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office package, especially ExcelBenefits:
