What you'll do:
EatonCare Technical Knowledge Writer & Editor:
The primary function of the Technical Writer & Editor is to lead EatonCare's knowledgebase strategy and to develop and evaluate the technical knowledgebase that is used internally with employees and externally with customers. The initial focus will be on the teams in Avery Creek, NC including the Distribution and Control and Brightlayer teams. The position is responsible for generating innovative ideas for content while working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. The position explores products, services, technology, or concepts to be documented and easily understood by a broad audience. This position is part of a large strategic initiative for all Customer Support, Marketing, Engineering, and IT across Eaton.
Activities to include but not limited to:
Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for greatest reader comprehension Generate innovative ideas for content and workflow solutions Meet with subject-matter experts to ensure specialized topics are appropriately addressed Analyze information required for the development or update of policy, procedure, and form documentation Review and/or copyedit content developed by other members of the team Collaborate with the software and product support teams to ensure that we're aligned Help to train front line employees to capture knowledgebase topics and write articles Work with new product launch teams to ensure that content is created for the new products Drive self-service usage through the establishment of effective and accurate content (increased ratio of self-service as a % of total contacts) Drive employee efficiency through making technical information easily available (reduction in handled time) Staying current with changing technologies and ways to display information (videos, search engine optimization, in-app resources, etc.) Understand the analytics and reporting to identify areas to improve the tools
