Description and Responsibilities
Respite is a short-term group living environment that provides treatment of intermittent crisis and stabilization for adults who are diagnosed with a mental health/substance use disorder. The goal of the Respite program is to work collaboratively with individuals to develop skills to maintain their independence in the community and to live a life that is not defined by their mental illness.
The clinician works as the provider and consultant for each person served as part of the multidisciplinary team. They s creen, enroll and complete intake documentation for individuals served and ensure timely completion of clinical assessments and treatment plans. They also provide clinical consultation to the program, staff and individuals served on an ongoing basis.
Other Key Responsibilities:
Assess individuals served for risk and oversee the development and implementation of Safety and Response Plans/Crisis intervention Plans.
Develop professional, person-centered relationships with individuals served and p rovide necessary clinical interventions utilizing evidence-based practice treatment models.
Provide modeling and training to direct care staff in relation to evidence-based interventions and monitor implementation in collaboration with program supervisors.
Collaborate with community providers, such as: Department of Mental Health, local hospitals/inpatient units, independent services providers, probation/parole and others.
Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Social Services field, experience working with adults with mental health challenges, a valid driver’s license, and acceptable driving record required.
