Job Description
Performs respiratory therapy as prescribed by a physician for the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease and illness. Sets up, operates and maintains respiratory equipment.
Job Responsibility
Ensures accurate and complete Physician prescription. Compares prescription requests with medical record order form and ensures information is complete. Clarifies any discrepancies with Physician.Provides patient/significant other with respiratory education. Explains treatment, tests and equipment uses.Provides prescribed respiratory therapy including: airway maintenance, emergency care, pulmonary function testing, cardio-respiratory rehabilitation and cardio-respiratory drug administration. Performs bedside vital capacity, inspiratory force peak flow measurements; administers various oxygen concentrations, aerosol medication devices and mechanical ventilators; supervises oxygen supported ambulation; performs chest physical therapy (cupping and coughing); provides and monitors mechanical ventilators on assigned unit; responds to Cardiac Team and STAT situations; performs oral suction, nasotracheal and tracheobroncial suction; performs with endotrachael intubation and airway maintenance.Performs related duties, as required.

Job Qualification
High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
AAS Degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent, required.
Current NYS Respiratory Therapist license, required.
Registration from the National Board of Respiratory Care, required.

The salary range for this position is $56.02-$63.18/hour
