About the Department
The Chicago Center for HIV Elimination (CCHE), is situated within theBiological Sciences Division at the University of Chicago Medicine. CCHEaims to eliminate all new HIV transmission events by 2041.
The University of Chicago\'s position on the South Side makes ituniquely situated to test, treat, and prevent new HIV infections in ahighly affected population. The South Side communities and majorityBlack suburbs connected to them to the South represents the largestcontiguous Black population in the United States. By using ourintegrated HIV transmission elimination approaches, we are beginning tomake new infections in these communities less frequent.
Job Summary
The Research Study Technician will assist the PI with day-to-dayoperations of funded projects that involve working with LGB (lesbian,gay and bisexual) and TGNC (transgender and gender non-conforming)individuals living on the South and West sides of Chicago.
The Research Study Technician will support the administrative andon-the-ground research-related tasks. Proper documentation must becompleted for all participant encounters. This position will workdirectly with the study team with some oversight from the PI andAdministrative manager. The candidate will report to the AssociateDirector of Administration. Funded projects include HIV care, PrEP care,substance use and COVID-19.
Responsibilities
Supports research dissemination by developing social media posts onpublished journal articles.Supports scheduling needs for the project and Center.Supports grant proposals for both service and research projects.Maintains an efficient, well-organized research study and supportsjunior research staff by managing supplies, maintaining qualitycontrol programs, and assisting with development of policies andprocedures related to the research project.Coordinates team meetings.Supports survey design.Drafts IRBs and manuscripts, submits conference abstracts.Supports data analysis.Supports study recruitment, screening for eligibility and consentingstudy participants.Delivers assessments and study interventions.Supports data entry.Assists with the development of study implementation protocols.Offers referrals to service programming when appropriate.Maintains technical and administrative support for a researchproject.Analyzes and maintains data and/or specimens. Conducts literaturereviews. Assists with preparation of reports, manuscripts and otherdocuments.Performs other related work as needed.Minimum Qualifications
