Duties and Responsibilities
The Research Senior Engineer II is responsible for:
Solve challenging R&D problems in support of global departments by means of computer simulation including finite element analysis (FEA), morphologic analyses, image analysis and multi-body dynamics/musculoskeletal modelling.
Perform all phases of computational simulation of product performance, from formulating a protocol through documenting results, in order to address biomechanical questions related to device safety and performance.
Provide technical assistance to other departments to support maintenance of existing products.
Design and drive biomechanics research projects including development of new tools or methods, to support future designs and/or to increase fundamental biomechanical understanding.
Present the results internally, as well as within conferences and peer reviewed journals when appropriate.
Improve the operational efficiency of internal practices, and support the continuous improvement of both internal and external (standardized) methods.
Your Background
Requirements and Education
Requires a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field, or foreign equivalent.
Must have 3 years of experience in the job offered or related position working with medical devices.
Must have:
2 years of experience with finite element analysis (FEA) software.
1 year experience with other tools relevant to preparing and solving problems in computational biomechanics such as CAD, medical image analysis, or machine learning.
2 years of experience as the main investigator in at least 1 industrial or academic research project.
Travel Expectations
Role permits up to 50% remote work. Role requires 10% domestic and international travel.
