We are seeking a Research Scientist for our Life Sciences team. The incumbent will report to a Life Sciences Senior Research Manager in Kimberly-Clark's Corporate Research Organization and work closely with fellow scientists and other subject matter experts to conduct fundamental and applied research in skin health and microbiome targeted towards the needs of consumers.
In this role, you will:
Collaborate with a diverse team of scientists and other subject matter experts to conduct basic and applied research targeted towards skin health technologies.Contribute as a team member on large projects within Global Research and Engineering's Life Science organization to develop fundamental information and identify technical options that enable current and emerging business aspirations.Work to help ensure that resulting intellectual property for technologies and/or products are protected through careful documentation, patents, publications, and trade secrets.Communicate results and recommendations in oral and written formats tailored to audiences ranging from scientists and engineers to business unit partners and leaders is expected.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:
B.S. in one of the biological sciences with expertise or knowledge in microbiology, cellular biology, or biomedical engineering and 2+ years of industry work experience. Alternately, M.S degree in a related field.Experience in one of the following areas: classical bacteriological techniques, epithelial cell (skin) biology, primary cell culture techniques including media development, co-cultures and/or in-vitro tissue constructs.Experience with nucleic acid isolation, (qRT-PCR), ELISA, immunohistochemistry, and/or other cell-based assays.Able to maintain a safe work environment appropriate for a biological laboratory (BSL-2), including competency in aseptic techniques.Fluent in efficiently executing laboratory protocols with a high attention to detail.Evidence of quickly learning emerging biological assays/methods, assisting with protocol standardization, and performing robust data analysis to deliver results.Proven record of successful results working in multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams.Excellent communication skills with ability to influence projects and partner direction thru oral and written means.Willing to travel up to 10%.
Preferred qualifications:
Project management experienceExperience with biostatisticsComputer coding experience (R, python, JMP) for analysis of large data sets (bioinformatics)Language skills beyond English are highly valued
