At Reality Labs Research, our goal is to explore, innovate and design novel interfaces and hardware for the next generation of virtual, augmented, and mixed reality experiences. Our aim is to unleash human potential by leveraging perceptual and cognitive capabilities to support natural and effective interactions. We are driving research towards a vision of natural, seamless experiences in XR environments that are effective, enjoyable, and functionally indistinguishable from those in the real world. Our team at Reality Labs is looking for interns with expertise in perceptual and cognitive processing, including (but not limited to):-Haptic perception and haptic displays-Multisensory integration and multimodal displays-Sensorimotor processing and motor control-Perceptual and cognitive modeling and computational cognitive science-Augmented and Virtual Reality-Human Factors and Display Design-Human-Computer InteractionAs a Research Scientist Intern at Reality Labs Research, you will work with world-leading perceptual and cognitive scientists to conduct hands-on research to improve our understanding of human perception and action, paving the way to the next generation of virtual and augmented reality technologies. You will research how augmented reality and other sensory-enhancing technologies impact perception and performance in a variety of contexts. Join a world-class team experimenting with bold ideas in areas including perceptual and cognitive science, AI, human-computer interaction, and design. Our internships are twelve (12) to twenty four (24) weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year.

Meta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses. When Facebook launched in 2004, it changed the way people connect. Apps like Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp further empowered billions around the world. Now, Meta is moving beyond 2D screens toward immersive experiences like augmented and virtual reality to help build the next evolution in social technology. People who choose to build their careers by building with us at Meta help shape a future that will take us beyond what digital connection makes possible today-beyond the constraints of screens, the limits of distance, and even the rules of physics.
