WHO YOU ARE
Prowess Consulting is looking for an experienced reporter, journalist and storyteller who has worked at top-tier national or international publications to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience to showcase our top-tier technology client’s highest profile work, with a focus on AI and innovation. Successful applicants will have a demonstrated track record of crafting engaging stories for national or international publications.
To be considered for this role you must reside in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia or Washington state. This is a remote role that can be worked from one of the states listed, however the work hours will be Pacific Standard Time.
THE ROLE
In this full-time vendor role, you will join a high-performing group of digital storytellers on the company’s brand journalism team, which uses its multimedia platform to tell the stories of people and organizations developing and using its technology in imaginative, innovative and life changing ways.
The writer role requires someone who:
Can write quickly and elegantly
Has diplomacy skills to accept feedback and work with multiple stakeholders
Isn’t afraid of diving deeply into technical or scientific material
Asks efficient and probing interview questions to quickly gather great material
Is eager to experiment with new content formats and technologies
Understands that accuracy and the ability to closely track details are paramount
You’ll also work closely with communications partners on shaping and executing story ideas, using your reporting chops to identify compelling angles and opportunities to share the company’s top news and most meaningful technology breakthroughs with journalists, influencers, analysts and tech enthusiasts.
QUALIFICATIONS
5-10 years of experience in journalism with national or international top-tier publications required
5-10 writing samples that demonstrate an ability to report deeply and a creative approach to executing compelling journalism-style stories on a range of topics must be provided when you apply
The capacity to work on tight deadlines and pivot quickly as news or priorities evolve
Ability to tell stories about highly technical topics in a way that is understandable and relatable to a non-technical audience and brings the technology’s impact to life
Demonstrated experience conducting interviews with a diverse range of sources – from scientific researchers and corporate executives to technology users and customers – to identify compelling story angles and produce journalism-style stories
The flexibility and persistence to manage complex editorial projects from beginning to end, including tracking and following through on multiple details and driving visual asset creation
The ability to think visually and lead collaborations with photographers, videographers or graphic artists to produce accompanying visual assets for internal use and press
Experience or ability to collaborate and run review processes with stakeholders across research, engineering, communications, marketing, external partners or customers and social media teams to ensure stories meet communications and business goals. This includes incorporating feedback from multiple sources
Interest in experimenting with AI and other technology to work productively and creatively
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The offered base pay range for this specific posting is $105,000 – 113,000 per year, DOE
Base Pay ranges are different for different work locations within the U.S., which allows for competitive pay and consistency in different states
U.S. based employees, working 30 hours per week or more have access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, basic life insurance, a 401K plan with matching, well-being benefits, education benefits, among others
U.S. based full-time employees receive 11 paid holidays, and accrue paid time off
